For months people of conscience in the US have struggled to know what to do as their goverment perpetrates genocide and the world abandons Gaza. Right now, there is an answer: join the students, support them, defend them, and shut it down until every single demand is met

It’s bad enough to incorrectly claim “from the river to the sea” is genocidal but flagging any mention of “decolonization” as genocidal casts all indigenous movements and criticism of colonialism as genocidal. This is fascist white supremacy & the head of the ADL is supporting it
This is an important and welcome move by @elonmusk. I appreciate this leadership in fighting hate.

This is what I’ve been trying to say. Antisemitism and islamaphobia are both huge issues right now but antisemitism is not a greater threat on college campuses than islamaphobia. Antisemitism is more weaponized by conservatives though
Replying to @equalityAlec
It is not until 53 paragraphs into the article that we learn something important: the groups tracking such issues have tracked way more (400% more!) incidents of Islamophobia than antisemitism on college campuses.

One of the few things that has brought me any joy recently is hearing Batya Levine’s “We Rise” emerge as a rallying cry and then learning that it was written during and in solidarity with Standing Rock protests batyalevine.bandcamp.com/tra…

Always a good time to remember the class/caste system of (contemporary) academia is totally artificial, particularly in an oversaturated PhD market, and university staff might just be your best option for strong collaboration with highly motivated comrades.

The twitter pile-on that SDOT gets when they confirm that this “protected” bike lane consists of paint and flexi-posts is a slight consolation for having encountered both a wrong way driver and a forklift unloading pallets within a single block of a “protected” bike lane this am
Replying to @carbikelanesea
We'll be installing flexi-posts for these lanes.
