I can see one way Elon can save $1m/year in TC.
I want to dig in for a bit on this set of Slack replies from a Twitter manager talking about undoing some of the layoffs.
With Twitter's change in ownership last week, I'm probably in the clear to talk about the most unethical thing I was asked to build while working at Twitter. 🧵

Dangit people, I *just* got here. Feels like I took a 15 year journey to stop ignoring the social media party and right as I walk in the building catches fire.

Getting a quick but accurate read on people is a key skill for managers and execs, bringing in outside help to think for you is the first step to letting the team know you are lacking in essential skills and not to trust you.
“Code this in a week or you’re fired. These other coders I’ve pulled from a project that’s 4 years overdue will be supervising you.”
I worked with a team for a few weeks. People built using TDD or very tight test-after. It was all trunk-based with continuous deployment. They formed up squads/swarms/groups as needed to get work done. They turned around improvements in a day usually. 1/

No no no hell no. I was actually getting close to talking myself into an open water swim despite the flatworm larvae and the bodies in barrels.
Lake Mead has deadly brain-eating amoebas now but if you keep your head above the water you'll be fine

Just hit 'Format Document' in #vscode on a JSON5 file, the clouds parted, the sun came out, and all was well in the world. Have a great day ya'll.

What a historic day — @AstroDuke becomes the first Native American woman to go to space! I am so proud of you, and wish you and your crew a safe journey among the stars to the @Space_Station.
We're on our way to space! #Crew5 lifted off from @NASAKennedy at noon ET (1600 UTC) and is headed to the @Space_Station for six months of scientific discovery.

Dear java, I'm glad you are excited that you have a new version but I do not need you to popup dialog boxes on my desktop to prompt me to upgrade. You are not that important.

The daily m1 mac multi-monitor error overlaid perfectly with a popup this morning.
Incredible ... and yet, this is only 7 of its 33 engines! 🤯

Well I'm about 9% happy with Windows shit show of an install and upgrade process so I guess it's mutual.

I just tried to call Service, computer said they will call me back in 150 minutes. Can't even answer the phone in less than an hour.
Tesla North America aiming for >50% same hour service

UPDATE: They got it repaired, had to leave the car overnight and use a rental. Tesla Service from the beginning has always been kind and professional and thorough ... just last 3-4 years it can take 3-4 weeks to get an appt even for non-minor issues.
This is stunning! To allow riders to better view autumn leaves, the driver of this Eizan Electric Railway train on the Kurama Line switches off the lights so passengers can better view this "Maple Tunnel" outside #Kyoto. Another reason to love #Japan's rail culture.

UPDATE: They called me back about 30 minutes later and after listening to the saga, schedule me to bring the vehicle in tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
A month of climbing in via passenger side like a clown?Rescheduled to first available Sept 15. Tesla just messaged me they don't know what the appt is for and can they cancel it?

Love the ambition, and Tesla folks have always been great once I can get the car seen ... but this is horrible, horrible service and its been like this for years now.
