We don't comment on politics, but if we did, we would say the orange faced one has had all three stumps uprooted by a devastating reverse swinging yorker. No ball tampering detected.

What does it take for science to reach patients, and for capital to back it? Ashoka University hosted Dr Amit Varma, Co-founder and Managing Partner of Quadria Capital, for a lecture series. A critical care physician by training, he served as COO at Fortis Healthcare before co-founding Quadria Capital, one of Asia’s largest healthcare-focused private equity firms. His first lecture, ‘From Bench to Bedside to Balance Sheet’, traced what has to happen before a discovery reaches a patient. It needs the backing of the clinician, the regulator, the payer and the investor; it must be designed to be affordable from the start, and doctors must actually adopt the evidence. His second lecture, ‘Betting on the Future’, looked at how investors decide what to back. He covered disciplined decision-making, the patience that long-term investing demands, and integrity as the one asset that cannot be rebuilt. Drawing on his journey as a physician, operator and investor, he showed students what it takes to move an idea from the lab to the patient, and to find the capital behind it. #AshokaUniversity

It's such a shame that this South Africa side which is by far the best test side in the world hardly play any test cricket. Something has to change for sure. #SAvAUS

Whatever happens from here, 2 things are indisputable: 1. Test cricket is the greatest sport on earth. 2. This should have been a 4 or 5 match series and South Africa deserves more (or even any) of them.

The entire stadium on their feet. The Blackcaps dugout applauding in awe. A well-deserved STANDING OVATION for Glenn Phillips! 🫡🇳🇿 When you put on a masterclass of that caliber under intense pressure, respect transcends boundaries. Absolute cricketing greatness! 👏🔥

Somak Raychaudhury (@somakrc), Professor of Physics, Ashoka University, delivered a keynote address at the Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC) 2026. In ‘Exploring the Universe with Indian Space Missions’, Professor Raychaudhury traced India’s path from orbit to surface: Chandrayaan-3’s landing near the lunar south pole, AstroSat’s data used in about 80 countries, and Aditya-L1’s unbroken watch on the solar storm of May 2024. Building on these milestones, he outlined the missions ahead, from bringing lunar samples home to exploring lunar ice and Venus, and stressed that this next chapter will be led by young scientists and engineers. #AshokaUniversity

Cricket view: NO Mohammed Shami in Indian test squad to New Zealand?? You pick Anshul Kambhoj and Akashdeep above him?? If batters are never too old to be picked, why not a bowler who is a proven match winner, has been taking a bagful of wickets in Ranji Trophy, was part of a deadly trio with Bumrah and Siraj, a bowler made for Kiwi conditions. @BCCI , the selectors need to give us fans some answers! 🙏

India’s Nobel kept on ice? economictimes.indiatimes.com… - @somakrc "Talent is not our problem. Our system is. Most Indian universities were originally built to teach and examine, while research was placed largely in national labs and autonomous institutes, away from students. Faculty buy equipment under rules designed for office supplies, and wait months for sanctioned funds. A 25-yr programme needs stable money, institutional memory and the freedom to fail. Presently, few of our universities can offer all three."
