“We need more Steve’s in this world.” Yes, yes we do. Incredibly grateful to have known Steve. In fact, we had just emailed a little over a week ago. A great dad, an amazing advocate, and overall a wonderful human. 💜

This one hit home. Although I work in ALS, my mom is in the very early stages of dementia and so “caregiver” takes on new meaning. “It’s when someone needs you physically and emotionally to have a life with purpose, to feel loved.”
Needed the reminder.

Looking forward to a week of learning, sharing, and collaboration at the international meetings on ALS/MND in Montreal. #aWorldFreeOfALS #ALSMNDWithoutBorders @ALSCanada
So proud to be a part of this amazing community to have moved the needle in this way to support people living with ALS and their families.
Today, ALS Canada celebrates a monumental advocacy achievement: the Ontario Government's commitment of $13 million over three years in the 2024 Fall Economic Statement to support the Ontario Provincial ALS Program.
To the ALS community, thank you. Together, we did this. This significant milestone was reached because of your collective action and tireless advocacy for change.

I reflect on living with ALS for five years in @ALSCanada's new blog series. Life has changed a lot since diagnosis, but I'm still here making memories and raising awareness. I appreciate the support and words of encouragement on this platform 💜
Incredible to see how far we’ve come in a decade and to know that the funding received from the #ALSIceBucketChallenge has made a real impact. Take the plunge 10 years later and make a donation! donate.als.ca/page/152981/do…

Grateful for the @VIA_Rail customer service agent and boarding agent who gave me some quick tips today to get me rebooked on likely the last departing train from Ottawa. Convinced good karma pays off. Will pay it forward!
I just found the digital archive of all of my university student newspapers. A treasure trove of reading material!!

Two weeks of solo travelling and I have so many thoughts. What a remarkable time. I am very blessed (and I don’t love that word but lucky isn’t the right sentiment either). More to come. For now I’m just going to sit in these feelings 🥰.
An important week for @ALSCanada and our lobbying efforts in Ontario. @SteveGMedia shares his story - and a powerful one it is - saultstar.com/news/former-sa…

“Today, one in four Ontarians with ALS choose medical assistance in dying (MAID), and increasingly, they are citing poor support as the reason. We can do better. We must do better.” – Tammy Moore, CEO, ALS Society of Canada

Just watched Bottoms and I have no clue what I just spent 1.5hrs of my life watching but Ayo Edebiri is funny as hell.
If you need a therapeutic cry give the @RobinRoberts interview with @michaelstrahan and his daughter Isabella a watch. Touching, thoughtful, and full of perspective. Some days I miss journalism.
A holiday gift we didn’t know we needed! Thank you ❤️
