Never forget, a 13-year study found that protected bike-lanes led to a drastic decline in fatalities for all road users.
ALL ROAD USERS.
What about painted bike-lanes? No safety improvement at all.
For sharrows, it’s actually safer to NOT have them.

There’s a new mural in Cabbagetown. 🍁
Ecology of Us, a new 22-storey mural by Jarus at 140 Carlton St., transforms a building into a tribute to the maple tree that stood nearby in Allan Gardens.
This City of Toronto, StreetARToronto mural advances reconciliation, diversity, equity and inclusion through public art, mentorship and community engagement, building more welcoming streets and a shared sense of belonging.🌳🎨

Too much American TV has created a narrative that cities are inherently unsafe. Brad Bradford is weaponizing those fears and painting a picture of Toronto that doesn’t align with reality by any metric.

If 905ers don't like bike lanes and don't want to take the GO - simpler answer: don't live/work in Toronto. There are lots of other cities that have wide streets, lots of parking and no bike lanes. People/businesses move to Toronto BECAUSE of the density, transit and bike lanes.

Doug Ford’s war on bike lanes isn’t about traffic—it’s part of a global right-wing backlash to vilify urban residents and defend fossil fuel interests.

NEW with AUDIO!
I was able to use an AI lip-reading tool to synthesize sound of what @kellyclarkson said at Art of Play.
Dialogue isn't a 100% match, but I think it's close!

Most road widenings happened with 0 public input. Trucks just showed up in the middle of the night and bulldozed sidewalks to add a few traffic lanes because traffic engineers said so.
Now, when we want those lanes converted back to sidewalks or bike lanes, it requires 15 public meetings, coordination between 5 different city agencies, and special one-on-one meetings with NIMBYs.
And it still might not happen because that NIMBY knows people in city hall.
