Trying to disguise your miserable statement behind a β€œno disrespect to anyone” is very cheap.
No disrespect to anyone, but I don’t really get how people don’t just grow out of this stuff. When I was 8-15 my life REVOLVED around Marvel, Star Wars & Harry Potter. But I grew up. At some point, you just grow out of this stuff

This movies was never gonna make its money back, is a LAIKA movie, they deliver quality and timeless classics, not box office success (only one it did was CORALINE). WILDWOOD is my movie of the year, I only want to rewatch it over and over again, that is all I care about.
β€˜WILDWOOD’ opened with $11M domestically. The second lowest opening for a LAIKA film.

β€œBoxtrolls is still their [LAIKA] best movie.”
I really wish I liked Wildwood more than I did. The animation is impressive, to be sure. It's probably the most ambitious stop motion movie ever made. I just wish that ambition was in service of more interesting ideas. The story is painfully generic YA kind of junk, most of the character designs are boring. The prelude is dark and mysterious and for a minute I though it was going to be a much more interesting movie than it ended up being. It's great to see somebody get $100 million to make his dream project with apparently very little concern about whether it would make the money back, I just wish that the dream had been a little more singular. Honestly, as far as Travis Knight goes, I enjoyed Masters of the Universe more. As far as Laika goes, Boxtrolls is still their best movie. As far as people saying this is the best stop motion movie ever made? Most ambitious, sure. Best? That's a silly thing to say when we have Nightmare Before Christmas, Mad God, The Wrong Trousers, Memoir of a Snail, and many others

DIE HARD 2: DIE HARDER and DIE HARD WITH A VENGEANCE 4K UltraHD. Steelbook exclusive (US) with AI artwork with a price tag of $40.00+. No DOLBY VISION (only HDR10) or DOLBY ATMOS. I enjoy this movies, but between, I rather have a complete 4K collection (boxset), overpriced steelbook and now the lack of DV, is a HARD pass.

The crease happening is not surprising, people called it from the demo units. What is surprising, the same people bought it and now are complaining.

The movie will find a second life on disc and streaming, I’ll be surprised if STREET FIGHTER II doesn’t happened.
It's a 70% drop on @Street_Fighter, so looks like it's going to lose a ton of money for @ParamountPics. This is exactly why I've been screaming all these films they are planning like @GIJoeMovie and bro male centric films are screwed unless they have incredibly tight budgets.

This is cinema, man. This is what is all about.
"Wildwood" took nearly 15 years to make, with 231 puppets and 136 sets, making it the longest stop motion film ever made.

Nice touch @letterboxd ... #Wildwood
Took LAIKA and director Travis Knight 16 years to finish WILDWOOD, it truly shows, the detail in every frame, every scene and every piece of dialogue. Is truly a work of art, is FLAWLESS, the best movie of 2026 (so far), I can’t wait to rewatch it. Absolute cinema!

All opinions are valid and no one should be attacked for liking or disliking a piece of art. At the same time, I find it tasteless to say people who enjoy the movie are being hyperbolic, seems a bit out of place.
Once again we're seeing a critic heaped with insults and horrible comments because they've (rightly) criticised a film... Which the general audience hasn't even watched yet! Personally couldn't agree more with @ryangaur the hyperbolic praise around Wildwood is a bit silly now
