Thanks to @SWFireandRescue for the invite to their training session on RTCβs involving EVβs.
Take home message:
Thermal runaway is a risk.
Be pragmatic with expectations.
Explosive vapour cloud is also toxic.
Respiratory protection may be required for the patient.

Near miss for a UK FRS after not recognising a vapour cloud caused by thermal runaway, and instead mistaking it for smoke/fire gasses.
This is not the fault of the crew, but shows the desperate need for legislation, education, training and guidance like I keep banging on about..

Why the fuck are people blaming striking NHS staff for people dying? People were dying well before the strikes. Strikes are to stop people dying, to get funding, to get more staff, to get fair pay, to make the NHS a safe environment once again. Healthcare shouldnβt be a lottery!

π€ Have you heard of the Dutch Reach manoeuvre?
π Itβs a simple change of habit to help you open your car door safely by reaching across to open the door with the hand furthest from the door - your left hand if you're the driver.
