The new movie Tár (nytimes.com/2022/10/06/movie…) has the best content warning ever in the NYTimes: "R rated. Violent dissonance." Really? I don't think Mahler's dissonance deserves an R. Ok, maybe Schönberg's an R, but Mahler's safe at PG13.
Isn't it ironic that what the American film and tv industry calls 'adult entertainment' is mostly entertainment for adolescent boys who never grew up?
