Stop Paying $50/Month for Opus Clip. I Built a Free, Open-Source App to Automate Your Shorts Channel
Introducing Autoshorts 🚀
AutoShorts is a local-first desktop application that does the heavy lifting of clip generation entirely on your own hardware.
Instead of paying a company to render videos in the cloud, Autoshorts uses your own computer to probe, extract, transcribe, analyze, and render vertical shorts.
No monthly limits. No paywalls. No subscription tiers. Just run unlimited videos and create unlimited clips.
The codebase is fully open-source.
Got suggestions or want to add auto-captions?
Pull requests are always welcome!

Cockroaches, especially the ones that fly 😭😂
Growing up, I used to pay my cousin to kill them for me before I could use the restroom
Once I noticed a cockroach in the bathroom, I could suspend my bath for the entire day. If na pooo, na to run am for bush 😂😭
Sometimes, when I didn't have money, I would give him my piece of meat in exchange for killing one
I'm serious about this, no be joke 😂
My dad ❤️
Back then, I was so interested in learning how to code, but I had no laptop. So I bought an exercise book.
Whenever we were done with practicals in school, I would sometimes stay in the lab from 1 PM to 6 PM, open the PageTutor app, and copy a bunch of HTML codes. If time permitted, I would run them to see the output.
I kept writing code in my exercise book, and whenever I got access to my friend's laptop, I would type out the code from my book and see the results. If I encountered a bug, I would copy the error and wait until I got access to the internet.
I was using a small phone, so I would Google the bug and wait for another opportunity to use my friend's laptop or a lab computer.
I kept going like that. I remember borrowing my friend's laptop and visiting ABU because they had free internet from 8 AM to 9 PM. I was so hungry, but I was determined to download an offline copy of W3Schools using HTTrack so I could speed up my learning without having to wait for internet access.
Mehn, we have come a long way. 🥹
Eventually, I got tired and asked my dad to get me a laptop. Initially, I felt bad asking him because he was going through a lot himself. But after a few months, he called me, and we got this laptop for 30,000.
The rest is history. ❤️
😂😂 that is why I always tell people to charge whatever they want to charge base on their worth
Do not allow social media noise distract you
Hunger is real out there!
Funny how I charged 2m to build his project, but someone else built something completely nice with 800k😂
If I had charged just $1k, I would have still gotten that job.
Sometimes, it’s not advisable to stick to your worth😂
