💡A survey of Australian teachers found 88% believe in the learning styles myth, 38% believe students learn better through discovery than explicit instruction, 41% believe testing tends to detract from learning.
If you're taught neuromyths about learning from someone who is supposed to be an expert, you'll likely believe them.
The report rightly recommends strengthening initial teacher education, among other things.

Most curriculum programs allow the teacher to move on even when students are not yet errorless, so the students start the next lesson already behind. Firming up every response to 100% does not guarantee they will remember it all tomorrow, but it greatly improves the odds.

"Test anxiety" is largely not a thing. It's the natural panic that sets in when you're aware you're not proficient at the subject matter.
Inflated grades give parents a poor sense of their children's ability, so when the children score low on anything, it's suddenly a static biological problem rather than a fixable knowledge deficiency.
🚨🚨🚨Unpopular Opinion: The biggest lie schools accommodate is the, “My child is just not a good test taker” farce. We just accept with little to no evidence that it’s an actual affliction. Yes, there are a VERY few students this impacts, but it generally starts as a child doing poorly on a test, and it is an accurate reflection of the child’s knowledge, but parents refuse to believe that so they create a diagnosis and the schools just roll with it every single year. No one tries to give the student strategies or work through the supposed “anxiety”. Nope everyone just accepts it and moves it along. 🙄
