I’m so very sad to learn of Amir Lerman’s passing. He was a true pioneer in the field of coronary microvascular dysfunction and his legacy will be long lasting. My thoughts are with his family.

More proof that medicine in the UK is becoming a joke. This year only 75 new opthalmology training posts for the whole of the UK were advertised (population 67 million) and yet the royal college is keen to train opthalmologists without a medical degree/ qualifications.
I thought Royal colleges were meant to serve the needs of their members ?
In November, we are launching a one-year pilot of physician associates within ophthalmology, to explore expanding the healthcare workforce while increasing non-medical eyecare professionals within hospital service.

The junior doctors strike has hardly made news, even though there will be no junior doctor cover in hospitals for well over a week. The fact that Drs are having to resort to such measures speaks volumes for how they are valued by an out of touch government.
