My #coremaths students always struggle to calculate net pay when the gross is over the “basic” rates. Bar modelling has been REVOLUTIONARY.

A week ago we enjoyed the company of 3000 educators at #MathsConf23.
Now we are releasing the recordings so everyone can experience it.
Find out what the fuss was about, catch up on what you missed, recap a session, share inspiration with colleagues.

Welcome to Self Marking Google Sheets! As the name suggests, these are sheets that mark themselves. Pair it with Google Classroom and say goodbye to marking giving more time for feedback. @mathsjem @MrMattock @mrbartonmaths @Just_Maths @PixiMaths sites.google.com/view/selfma…

THIS.
If you’re going to #Mathsconf23 and haven’t yet chucked some pennies in for charity please do. Let’s get that over £10K before tomorrow’s social.

#Mathsconf23 is free! By my reckoning, about 15% have bought a raffle ticket. You'd spend more than a fiver on a coffee stop on the way to and from the venue, if it wasn't a virtual conference! Without the chance of winning a prize!

I only spotted last week that Elmwood is providing free access to its KS1 - 5 maths textbooks until end August. I signed up for KS3 and got online access to the bundle today - includes textbooks and homework books for Years 7 - 9. Worth a look.

Seems like loads of maths teachers have joined Twitter in the last few weeks. Welcome!
I write a blog called resourceaholic.com. If you're ever looking for a resource for a lesson then you might find my resource libraries helpful (recommendations by topic, KS 3 to 5). 1/2

Worried about Y11s transitioning to Y12 - so going to do daily free live lessons on youtube for all students interested in A-Level to help bridge the gap (hopefully starting Wednesday)

Started putting together videos for Y9&10 lessons when we go “back to normal” after the holidays on Monday. Revision not new content.
The start of the week covers rounding and estimation. The last two will be arithmetic sequences.

Hi #CoreMaths teachers.
I created a list of people that teach or are connected to Core Maths.
It seems like now would be a good time to highlight and update it.
If you are already on it, please add 'Yes' if you want to be kept on it still.

Thread: some math enrichment for math lovers, teachers, and students to ponder as a way to relax, de-stress, engage the mind during dark times. In no particular order. I personally endorse all of these. #math #mathchat #statschat #MTBoS
