She gained explosive popularity at the time largely because she is a woman, yet the direction she is actually trying to advance is this dangerous one. Nearly nine months have passed since the election, but the response to issues that directly affect people’s livelihoods has been far from sufficient. Her posture of following the excesses of the United States and clinging to the Japan-U.S. alliance without prioritizing the interests of the Japanese people is deeply absurd.
