This review, which is part of a themed collection on axially chirality, was written with the goal of sharing some fundamentals and capturing a 'snapshot' of the state of atropisomerism in drug discovery.
Postdoc Ethan put together a timely update on CpTiCl3 for EROS - well done, Ethan!
We love CpTiCl3, and you should too! We have updated the EROS entry for this wonderful complex, with a particular focus on its ability to serve as a catalyst for redox activations. Check it out!

Congrats to Ashley, leaving for the summer, starting the Boehringer Ingelheim 2026 Student Internship Program in Ridgefield, CT
my favorite group tradition. our first grant (SBU seed grant) notice came in during subgroup my first year (group was so small we were doing it in my office!). I was so excited we had to go do something to celebrate. quick walk just off campus.... a tradition was born. 🎉🎉
Really grateful for the support from the community about LIPCS as we expand beyond the SBU-BNL Photochem Supergroup, and excited for the future, with support from my NSF CAREER award!
Also, 4th year Yetong Lin gave a great talk on her manipulating divergent Ti LMCT excited state reaction pathways for enforcing catalyst control over alkoxyl radicals! pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/jac…
Truly honored to have been awarded an NSF CAREER for our Ti photocatalysis research, as well as development/expansion of our efforts in photochemistry education and community-building. Grateful for the support for basic science research on sustainable catalysis!
Really thrilled that Mahir was selected to join Penn Chemistry's CatResDev REU program to work in the Zahrt Lab this summer! And Josh's opportunity in the Smith lab at Howard. Going to miss them this Summer, but looking forward to welcoming them back in the Fall!
