There are actually 7 types of rest we need,
explains Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith,
And sleep is only a PART of ONE of those 7:

We were about $6,999,999 short on funding for a Super Bowl ad with this same message, but maybe if everyone shares it, we will reach the same number of people?

Where did this doc/image come from? Why do some keep saying "proficient" is the goal? Why would we not teach to excellence? The statement: "Extending is not the goal for all students" = the soft bigotry of low expectations. Extending is not a unicorn; it's a level of excellence.

This puts kids who follow the rubric to a T at a disadvantage. There’s actually no way to get extending if “proficient” is *the goal* (which is what the document states in bold red print). But then some kids will get EXT anyways and the criteria for that is muddy

When students dysregulate and behave in unexpected ways, they are thinking with the emotional part of their brain at that moment. This is not a teachable moment. It is a time to connect, not correct. #LeadInclusion #EdChat #UDL #Inclusion #SEL
