Reminiscing about the magic of the Canadian Derby. ✨ #horseracing

Relive the excitement of the 97th Running of the Canadian Derby. 🇨🇦 It was Quarry and jockey Damario Bynoe capturing the $200,000 Grade 3 Canadian Derby race by a half-length over a driving Big Curl. Quarry, a three-year-old gelding by War of Will out of Black Dynamite, was bred in Kentucky by @claibornefarm. The win marked a first Canadian Derby victory for trainer Jerry Gourneau, the five-time leading trainer at @AssiniboiaDowns in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and a major win for owner Henry S. Witt, Jr., who has claimed the Assiniboia Downs leading owner title for seven consecutive years. Congratulations to the connections of Quarry on their Canadian Derby victory at @cntymile! #horseracing #horseracingab #thehorsesab #derby97 #canadianderby @AlbertaHbpa
