Jackson Koivun, Michael Brennan and Benjamin James have all shown promising early career form. From mid June's US Open this year, in events where at least two of them have competed-
Who else should be included in this comparison, moving forward with less division in the game?

The PGA Tour had agency in how it chose to respond to LIV Golf arriving on the scene. The PGA Tour could have sat down with to try and work out if coexistence was possible, prior to LIV's first event. The PGA chose not too. When LIV started, the PGA Tour could have allowed LIV players, to play in their events and let the membership event number requirements be the factor that ended PGA Tour membership for those on LIV, rather than suspending them. This would have saved the PGA Tour millions in lawsuit legal fees. The PGA Tour chose not to. The PGA, having talked up legacy, history and tradition, could have used PIP bonus and saved legal costs to elevate event purses, while keeping full fields and the 36 hole cut. The PGA Tour chose no to. LIV's arrival brought new opportunities and challenges for the PGA Tour. However, the PGA Tour's choices were PGA Tour choices and bad ones are on the PGA Tour, not LIV.
At the halfway mark in Mexico, a look at the top of the leaderboard and the ranking on Conrad Golf Ranking. Sadly, while the course looks good and is in great condition, it's just a bland course week from how the course plays.

While having no issue with any players who made the move to LIV, I did like the way several waited until they had fulfilled their 2022 PGA Tour membership obligations andmoved across after the 2022 Tour Championship.
Those players-
Cam Smith
Joaquin Niemann
Cameron Tringale
Harold Varner III
Marc Leishman
Anirban Lahiri
A number of others resigned their PGA Tour membership prior to moving to LIV. Some played in the first LIV event while still holding PGA Tour membership and were suspended the minute tee shots were hit at the Centurion course in June 2022.
Sometimes, it's more how you do it than what you do...
I find it amusing that the strongest and, oftened proclaimed, best golf tour seems content to do stuff all about pace of play, yet expect fans to just put up with incompleted rounds due to darkness. Somethings interrupting or halting play can be unforeseen, but darkness... Surely, fans should expect better when it's only a 120 player field 🤷🏻♂️

It sounds as though Bryson DeChambeau remains committed to LIV, his Crushers franchise and team golf.

If this new Australian Test Cricket batting reality is acceptable, to those running the game, just kill the long format off completely in this country and stop paying lip service to a format you obviously don't give a damn about.
Tony Finau's career continues its freefall. In late 2023. Finau, a top 20 player for several years, was reportedly in late level talks with LIV. Finau chose to walk away from the LIV offer, but by mid 2025 his star had lost some of its shine. Now ranked 174 on the OWGR, 229 on Data Golf and 242 on Conrad Golf Ranking, does Tony ever regret his decision to stay. He would have an extra $40 million in the bank, and his slump would have been blamed on his move to LIV. There are supposedly some cautionary tales around players who went to LIV. Perhaps Tony Finau and Will Zalatoris are cautionary tales from the other side of the divide...
Second Stage Qualifying for the DPWT is happening this week at four venues. The leading 20 players at each venue will go through to Final Qualifying. LIV players competing and their current place in the respective fields after two rounds-

Sergio Garcia's anticipated departure from LIV has been confirmed in an announcement from Sergio. The statement some "living in my own bubble of the highest degree, or an intentional piss take. No mention of the past few years on LIV and apparently no memory of things he said about the DPWT and PGA Tour when he was leaving.
I wish Sergio all the best in his endeavours but I expect others might remember what he seems to have forgotten.
Winner of last week's Genesis Championship on the DPWT, Yuto Katsuragawa, has continued his good form in the first round of the Vantelin Tokai Classic, on the Japan Golf Tour. At -6, he leads by one shot from Tomoyo Ikemura and Yujiro Ohori.
