So this was left as a comment on one of my most recent X posts. I’ve always been clear that I’m not Jewish; I oppose hate against Jews because antisemitism is wrong (and yes it conflicts with my liberal values). I’m just sad that this hate & homophobia is out there… 😔
I’m disappointed that @PublishersWkly named this book by Francesca Albanese a Best Nonfiction Book of 2026. Having a different *opinion* of the Gaza conflict is one thing, but Albanese lacks fidelity to *facts*: she claimed there’s “no evidence” for Hamas’ 10/7 rape of 🇮🇱 women.
I miss the 2017 BC election. None of the parties’ candidates openly embraced homophobia, antisemitism, or antagonism to First Nations. The carbon tax was supported by the 3 main parties; the Greens (at the time) weren’t proposing to run a chain of grocery stores. #bcpoli
As noted by retired diplomat @Arturmaks , this action fundamentally betrays 🏳️🌈 ppl in Türkiye. I support Canada establishing deeper bonds with other nations- “diversification”- but this is an autocratic & oppressive regime.
I am joining Prime Minister @MarkJCarney in Türkiye for a historic visit to Ankara and Istanbul. This marks the first bilateral visit by a Canadian leader to the country and an important opportunity to deepen our relationship with a NATO Ally and G20 partner.
With bilateral trade growing by nearly 50% over the past five years, there is significant potential to take this relationship further. Together, we will deepen cooperation in sectors central to our economic resilience and collective security.

After doing immense damage to the US domestically Trump has now turned against the longtime US ally Ukraine, which just suffered a Russian attack on a (civilian) commuter train.
This is unforgivable. The @POTUS administration has thrown our ally to the Russian wolves! I stand with Ukraine!
I stated on X that my BC Con candidate avoided neighbourhood meetings & social media so I can’t vote for a person I know little about. I have also stated my disappointment with Eby.. But these presumably BC Con supporters lobbed homophobic comments at me. cc: @LDoerkson #bcpoli
They are correct in saying that Sally Rooney isn’t a terrorist. She just wants to donate to a terrorist organization! I also think Rooney is interested in publicity, which these celebs are providing…

These authors refused their publisher’s inclusion of language saying that the 10/7 Hamas attacks on 🇮🇱 violated int’l law. They complained that it was akin to labelling slave rebellions as illegal. But children deserve *factually accurate* nonfiction books.
Palestinian American coauthors Jenan A. Matari and Alana Hadid have withdrawn their book ‘Displacement and the Palestinian American Story’, originally slated for September 29, from Random House Children’s Books, citing clashes over editorial changes. buff.ly/FVpX9As
John and I voted in the provincial election today. Our polling station is located directly across the street! I was given a nifty “I Voted” sticker upon exiting.
Putin’s online influence machine promotes: Alberta separatism; Anthony Fauci conspiracies; accusations that 🇮🇱 is committing genocide; disinformation about Ukraine.
Reject Putin’s propaganda.
I would not want College Democrats to host far-left antisemitic politicians on campuses. So there is no excuse for College Republicans to host far-right AfD politicians who describe the Holocaust as a “very large party.” This happened at Georgetown U.

(1/2) My BC Conservative candidate, Tom Ikonomou, refused (again) to attend the local all-candidates meeting; the party sent a form letter instead. I wasn’t there but I’m not seeking office; if Tom can’t show up for my neighbours, he doesn’t deserve to be my MLA. #bcpoli
I’m reading John Geiger’s Quest, the story of Sir Ernest Shackleton’s last ship. It eventually sank off the coast of Labrador; Geiger and a team located the wreck.
At a Kansas rally Donald Trump used the term “Shylock” to refer to the Democrat running in the Senate race. The Democrat isn’t Jewish, but this an #antisemitic trope and he knows this.
As @SelinaMRobinson has said: the hate is real, and it’s all over this platform.
The response from “Ambulance Affair” is also a mask-off moment: I was trying to argue that antizionism is antisemitic, and he used a hateful slur about Jews that (ironically) proves my point. 😔
You know, Joe Biden was an honourable man, but when he made verbal gaffes he was relentlessly hounded about his age and mental acuity. Well here’s 80-year-old Trump seemingly bragging about high poverty rates for Black, Hispanic, and Native Americans… 🤷🏻♂️
This is a fair critique. The BC Conservatives have backed away from SkyTrain to Surrey-Newton. In fairness, the NDP has not committed to it either. 😔I support SkyTrain to Surrey Newton, North Shore, and UBC. 🚝 #bcpoli

I’m grateful that mayor-elect Pete Fry didn’t sign the “Vote Palestine” pledge, but a majority of the new council did. I hope Fry takes the concerns of our Jewish friends/neighbours seriously; doing so is real progressivism! #bcpoli
Today, JFBC, CIJA and RAV sent an open letter to Mayor-Elect Fry, sharing the concerns and priorities of Vancouver's Jewish community and reaffirming our commitment to safety, belonging, and inclusion for all Vancouverites.

Now I’m being quoted by a disgraced rabbi who seems to wish 🇮🇱 didn’t exist.
I’d much rather be on the side of @RabbiWolpe @RabbiStevenG @RabbiStevenG and the vast majority of Jews (though I am not Jewish).
Israel has no right to exist.
No country has a "right to exist".
Did Yugoslavia have a "right to exist"?
Did the USSR have a "right to exist"?
Did Czechoslovakia have a "right to exist"?
Did the German Democratic Republic have a "right to exist"?
Stop already with that foolish claim.
The IHRA is a complete fraud created by Zionists to suppress honest discourse about Israel and Palestine. Its creation had nothing at all to do with combatting actual antisemitism.
