Sometimes, the pictures of you in the background of public comment really tell a story.

I have @jessimurray on bluesky if you’re there. I also dunno if I’m going to try to revive my Mastodon presence (in bio), etc, but I no longer feel good about being on twitter really so 🤷🏻‍♀️

Very clearly related to why Coded Bias was a much better documentary than that one where a bunch of former tech dudes sadly said “we had no idea we were destroying democracy” (The Social Dilemma)
All 7 women in this survey said "no" to "Is an AGI likely to cause civilizational disaster if we do nothing?". 6/7 warned of that narrative distracting from corporate power grabbing and other immediate risks. Only 5/15 men said "no" to this question. (p-value for χ² = 0.014)

Fact-check: True
When someone with ADHD doesn’t respond, there are several reasons why: 1. We didn’t see it, our inboxes are often a mess. 2. We have forgotten. 3. We know we have to respond but have a difficult time connecting the dots to make it happen. This sends us into a cycle of shame.

Verification wasn’t about denoting who was popular— it was a security feature that happened to often be more necessary for popular accounts. Removing the security aspect of it means that the core value prop was erased. That’s why no one wants it anymore.

Also the fact is that the beneficiaries of the security feature were partially the verified individuals but more so the audience who would understand whether a tweet they saw was authentic. Verification/security should have been something Twitter invested in not tried to monetize

Next time Elmo wants a feature, make him write out the user stories.

I sent out my goodbye email at work yesterday (today is my last day) and amusingly enough, I have gotten far more Instagram requests for my dog’s account than LinkedIn requests for me. (Admittedly I was already connected to many on LI but I still enjoy it)

My prediction is that #LoveIsBlindLive will start once all the traffic switches over to HBO for Succession.

Remembering when my old building manager ripped up my rent check that I put in the box over the weekend instead of on Friday so that he could also give me a “failure to pay” fee in addition to a late fee. Cost me $150. Cap the fees to disincentivize weaponizing them.
This is so fucking embarrassing.

(I’m switching departments, but going to avoid putting all the details on Twitter right now. Need to figure out what kind of presence I should have online etc etc, but wanted to share the news with friends!)

Went on a walk today with friends and Sammy was off-leash. Just after this photo, Sammy fell behind-I tried to figure out where she was, and saw she was sniffing a golden retriever. I was flustered and totally missed that the golden in question was Bailey, @ewarren’s pup!

My friend commented later on how we’d just seen @ewarren in the wild, and I was like, “wait, WHAT?” I was too focused on the dogs! Otherwise I would’ve told them that Sammy, like Bailey, also was a key part of my campaign, focusing on getting Washington to pass a wealth tax.
