I’m excited to announce that we’re launching “General Intuition” today together with a $133M seed round. We’re a new AI research lab with a focus on policies, world models and video understanding models for the games industry and robotics.

Can’t wait to share more on this
General Intuition has raised another $220M at a $6.2B valuation as we start making our models available. These are an entirely new class of foundation models, trained on billions of action-labeled videos, capable of acting in realtime in never seen before environments. 1/6

We have very unfortunate news to share today... 😢 Support for the Arctic Report Card pulled, effective immediately. I've been an author for this annual report since 2020, and we just celebrated our 20th anniversary edition last year. subscriber.politicopro.com/a…

Even though I saw it coming together week by week, this still kinda blew my mind. Basically perfect rocket league but in a transformer (and multiplayer!). Amazing work @hu_anth & co
Introducing MIRA. A playable, multiplayer world model. A dream of Rocket League. Trained on 10k hours of data collected with publicly available bots, MIRA learns the dynamics of a four-player game. The model runs in real time at 20 fps, based on the keys you and the other players press. Built by General Intuition and @kyutai_labs, in collaboration with Epic Games. Not used to develop Rocket League. ▶️ Play the demo, read the technical report, and explore the open-source code at generalintuition.com/mira At ICML? Find us at Booth 111 to try it yourself and dig into the results with the team.

More on what we’re up to
General Intuition CEO @pimdewitte, who's building foundation models trained on video game controller input data ("action-labeled gameplay clips"), says general intelligence won't "taste like an LLM": "We have a scale of data that's going to allow us to jump to the frontier in one capability — which is any system that can be controlled with a game controller (which is most robots) — and then, you can use that to create a sufficiently general intelligence." "As humans, the decision to talk or type is a very, very small subset of the actions that we can actually take." "So in order to create a sufficiently general intelligence to play 10,000+ video games, the model has to be able to predict across the entire action space of human cognition when they're interacting with these environments. Which are 2D and 3D environments, interfaces, long-horizon tasks, short-horizon tasks, [etc.]." "It has to be a sufficiently general intelligence in order to predict actions. Therefore, the type of model you get out is not going to taste like an LLM. This model is going to be incredibly good at navigating unforeseen environments. It's going to be incredibly good at zero-shotting any task that can be done with a game controller."

We just raised $320M to build frame -> actions policies, based on our massive MedalTV dataset. If this type of work excites you don't be a stranger! We're hiring around the world (including Stockholm).
Announcing our $320M Series A at a $2.3B valuation, led by @khoslaventures, with @generalcatalyst, @ericschmidt and @JeffBezos. General Intuition is the frontier lab for acting in space and time. We build large action foundation models trained on billions of ground truth action-labeled gameplay clips from 17M monthly active users on Medal, and push the frontier of world models to generate infinite training environments.

All-in-one business builder platform, interesting!
I'm excited to finally share what we've been working on! For the last 8 months, we've been building Biscuit: an all-in-one platform for building a business. Product, payments, emails, hosting and operations built in. Today we're opening the waitlist 🎉

Pim (our CEO) has assembled a top notch team, they’re all incredible at what they do and really nice people to work with. Can’t wait to share some of what we’ve been working on so far (but that’s for another day)!

Official announcement here: xitter.cf/gen_intuition/status/1…
Introducing General Intuition and our $133.7M Seed from Khosla Ventures, General Catalyst, and Raine. We build foundation models and general agents for environments that require deep spatial and temporal reasoning.

I'm experimenting with a new way to create short stories in Make Lore. It feels a bit like being a movie director; you set up characters and scenes and the AI acts it out for you. youtu.be/lJOdSMY4zhg?si=C9Ut…

This is a very interesting thought, and it connects to what I was saying earlier: there might be an "intelligence ceiling". If we think of intelligence as prediction, then even with perfect intelligence your prediction will only be as good as the input data.
Replying to @VictorTaelin
also: I bet self-improving AIs won't be a thing, because we'll soon find an optimal intelligence algorithm that is fast and inexpensive. you can't improve what is already maximized. logical queries will be as trivial as calculators. (self-replication is a different matter) that's the same reason I think alignment work is futile. how do you align AGI in an hypothetical scenario where any average joe can implement it in 100 lines of code? I have several reasons to be on that being the case. BUT AS ALWAYS: I COULD BE WRONG (and most likely am). don't take my crazy bets lol

For example; even the best imaginable super intelligence wouldn't be able to predict with 100% accuracy what I will do next, because it doesn't know my full state, and I'm full of chaotic processes (lol).

So if random chance will give you 50% correct predictions in some binary scenarios, then SOTA AI will maybe predict 65% correct and humans 70%, but there might be a theoretical max at say 72% because the input data doesn't allow for more.
