David Deputy and Ilia Morozov have continued to be a dynamic duo through their three games together this season. Add Ryan Seelinger, and the three combined for seven points in a 5-1 win over Alaska Anchorage on Friday.
My recap for the @oxfreepress: oxfreepress.com/recap-miami-…
“It used to be, there’s four weeks in everybody’s season. Let’s plow through these last four weeks. Now, there’s already kids announcing that they’re leaving their schools.”
Chuck Martin talks about the transfer portal after a question about Miami’s schedule from @CSouderSports
I’ll be at the Miami men’s basketball exhibition game tonight, but there won’t be live stats or anything of that nature. It’s basically a scrimmage.
So, as a result, instead of a normal recap, I’ll have a takeaways article instead, along with quotes depending on availability.
Scheduling update: Per Miami Athletics, Miami football’s Tuesday night MACtion game on Nov. 3 against Buffalo is being moved to 8 p.m. on the main ESPN channel.

Despite so many chances, the Talawanda boys soccer team could not muster a comeback against Wilmington High School, leading to an exit from the OSHAA postseason.
My recap of an emotional season-ending loss for the Brave at home for the @oxfreepress: oxfreepress.com/recap-talawa…
Miami completes the series sweep in OT! 🧹
That's 5 straight WWWWWins for the RedHawks

Final: Talawanda 1, Wilmington 3
The Brave season comes to an end as two corner kick goals are the difference for Wilmington. Noel Albarran scored in the last two minutes to end the shutout, but it wasn’t enough in the end. A really emotional scene here for a heartbroken group.
GOAL: Talawanda 0, Wilmington 3
Ben Angelica, the Hurricane leading goal scorer this season, finally finds the net. A run through the Brave back line afforded him space for a hard, low shot to the bottom left corner of the net, giving the visitors a three goal lead.
HT: Talawanda 0, Wilmington 2
The score doesn’t accurately reflect the game being played on the pitch.
Wilmington has had a couple of chances, but it’s felt like Talawanda has been all over the ball during the regular flow of play. Two corner kicks are the difference.
GOAL: Talawanda 0, Hurricane 2
The same three Wilmington players who combined on the first corner kick goal do the same thing again. Nicholas Zerkle finds Brody Reynolds on the far side of the box, and a header back to Anderson gives him his second goal of the game.
Despite the 1-0 deficit, Talawanda has had a handful of chances in the back half of this first 40 minutes. Noel Albarran almost scored a swinging left-footer from distance, but a tip of the ball into the crossbar kept it out.
A couple of corner kicks haven’t found twine either.
GOAL: Talawanda 0, Wilmington 1
After a huge save by sophomore keeper Sam Hogan, the Hurricane sent a corner kick into the box. A nice play back to a defender, Colton Anderson, gave him all the room in the world to shoot. The visitors lead with 25 minutes left in the first half.
This Miami fourth line has been clinical all year, and so has Layne Loomer. He’s been around plenty of scoring chances, and he finally gets rewarded. A rebound and a wide open net make for his first collegiate goal!
RedHawks lead 1-0
