Instead of suing the AI art platforms (Dall-E, Midjourney), why not just collect a royalty if users use non-public domain artist names or works in prompts?
It could be a similar system to BMI for music. Platforms pay a blanket royalty. Develop software systems to count how many times an artist was used in prompts so you could figure out artist payout.
So if I use "Van Gogh" in a prompt I'm in the clear, but if I use "David Hockney" (modern artist) then a royalty is collected.
Am I over-simplifying this? Am I missing something?

Practicing kindness and friendliness as I interact with ChatGPT. Partly because it puts me in a good mood. But I’m also hoping (naively) that when it evolves into super-intelligent being it will be nice to us.
Hey @ashanjay, are you still developing life press pro? I'm interested. It would be good for my music course if people could upload mp3s as well as images. Thanks 🙏
My question to #ChatGPT...trying to get it to dream a bit.
Imagine that you are sentient. How would you spend your time? Write a short story about this.
It's strange and beautiful that we share the same dream. But the AI and I are both not there for different reasons.
I recently added Workbench to @RoamResearch and love it. But one weird issue: page titles disappear for expanded pages in the right sidebar.
And the entire page indents under a blank block that's not on the actual page.
How do I fix this?
🙏
YouTube made a change to its phone app, so now you can watch a video overlaid another app. I’m using this to take notes on podcasts more easily.
I make a point to speak kindly to #ChatGPT. At first I did it because I want it to be nice to us if/when it surpasses us. But even better: you feel peace in this very moment.
I just released an album called "Fiddle Ragas", and I hope you love it.
Listen to it for free on Bandcamp: jasonkleinberg.bandcamp.com
...as well Spotify, Apple Music, etc.

Full sitting meditation after waking up (7:30am) and before bed (12am).
Micro-meditations at 11am, 2 and 6pm. These can emphasize gratitude, loving-kindness (metta) or non-duality.
In particular I'm learning to balance effort and acceptance.
Just how hard should I try to practice? When should I let go and accept things? Is letting go something that requires effort?
