Trump’s plan to control who wins — Marc Elias Democracy Docket Founder Over the last 48 hours, two things have become unmistakable: Donald Trump is trying to steal the midterm elections, and Attorney General Todd Blanche will do whatever he can to help him. In California, the DOJ has escalated its threats against election officials and voters. On Friday, it sent letters to all 58 counties demanding they set aside mail ballots the DOJ has flagged or face the “risk significant federal scrutiny.” Meanwhile, in Alaska, Trump went further. He ordered his DOJ to sue to block certification of the Senate election if Democrat Mary Peltola wins. Asked about the lawsuit, Trump said, “Well, I’m one that said, ‘Do it.’” My law firm, Elias Law Group, has already moved to intervene to defeat this on behalf of Peltola’s campaign and the Democratic Party. DOJ’s rationale for the lawsuit is ridiculous, and its legal arguments are frivolous. The pretext for this lawsuit is the fact that two men named Dan Sullivan are on the ballot: Republican Sen. Dan S. Sullivan and Dan J. Sullivan, a retired teacher from Petersburg. DOJ asserts this is confusing to voters and that the remedy is to certify the Republican the winner. For this astounding proposition, the DOJ relies on the National Voter Registration Act. Set aside that the law governing voter registration has nothing at all to do with the certification of elections. Set aside that the underlying factual claims in the complaint read like a cross between Mad Libs and an AI chatbot run amok. The Alaska Supreme Court has already rejected the effort to keep the second Dan Sullivan off the ballot. And the Constitution gives states, not the president or the Justice Department, the authority to govern the composition of their ballots and the criteria for certifying their elections. But this, in some respects, is beside the point. The clumsy execution of Trump’s whim in Alaska is less important than what it reveals about his intentions and Blanche’s willingness to be his accomplice. Trump’s goal is clear. He plans to try to steal the election by asserting control over the counting and tabulating of ballots. That extends to the certification of results. More than a year ago, on August 18, 2025, he posted on social media that “the States are merely an ‘agent’ for the Federal Government in counting and tabulating the votes. They must do what the Federal Government, as represented by the President of the United States, tells them, FOR THE GOOD OF OUR COUNTRY, to do.” 𝗘𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 1

President Trump at a rally today in Michigan regarding negotiations with Canada: ‘They are willing to give us anything at this moment’. This is total b.s. from Trump. Canada is the only country that has stood up to Trump for his illegal tariffs.

Democrats need 5 net seats to control the Senate. In my calculation I don't include Fetterman as a Democrat. They are competitive in: Alaska, Maine, Texas, Ohio, Iowa, North Carolina, South Carolina and Kansas. These are Republican held seats.

Vladimir Putin openly supports Iran in its war with the United States. Putin supplies Iran with military technology and missiles. How is it acceptable to any American that President Trump supports Russia instead of Ukraine. Iran has killed 21 Americans & injured hundreds more.

Ukraine is continuing its systematic destruction of Russia's oil refineries, chemical plants and data centers. How long can Putin remain in power before Russia's oligarchs and elites demand his removal.

At 6 a.m. on a Monday, my friend from Texas dragged me to a sports bar in Tokyo. I assumed it would be empty. It was packed. Forty Americans. In jerseys. At dawn. Eating chicken wings for breakfast. In Japan, 6 a.m. on a Monday is for silence and coffee. Here, a man wearing a block of cheese on his head was arguing with a man in a Bears jersey. They had never met. They were sharing a plate of wings. Every time someone scored, total strangers hugged. Including me. I was hugged by a dentist from Ohio. Then I noticed a young guy in the corner. Alone. Navy haircut. Maybe 19. First time this far from home. At halftime, his phone rang. FaceTime. His mom, in Oklahoma. Sunday afternoon there. He turned the phone around to show her the bar. Forty strangers yelled, "HI, MOM!" She started crying. He started crying. The cheese guy started crying. Then the dentist from Ohio took the phone and said, "Ma'am, don't you worry. We've got him." That kid didn't pay for a single wing the rest of the game. My friend says nobody really comes for the football. I believe him.

When Trump met Putin in Alaska, people joked he’d sell part of the state to Russia. Well, it wasn’t a joke after all, it turns out. And he’s still trying to do this deal. It isn’t dead yet. Our foreign policy is being sold for parts. Worst corruption ever. Conscience-shocking.
The former CEO of a $25bn US gas venture has accused Russian energy giant Novatek of secretly controlling the project, triggering a mass resignation of company leadership over fears it is violating US sanctions. A wild story with @JamieSmythF: ft.com/content/e9cfbfbb-e65a…

I find myself once again asking the question, why are two random real-estate developers negotiating all foreign deals on behalf of the United States government? Why is Marco Rubio (US secretary of state) not the one doing the deals? I think this question will become important…

The revelation of a $25 billion gas project in Alaska allegey financed and controlled by a Russian company has resulted in several U.S. top executives abandoning the project. Is this project tied to the DOJ suing to block the election Senate certification if Republicans lose?
