HubSpot isn't telling you everything when it comes to your email marketing. It can't tell you: - when content is jinxing your ability to land in inboxes - what fresh asks and messaging angles to try based on your performance - whether your DNS is updated and configured properly to succeed in 2026+ I'm offering email program audits to help you see exactly what's holding you back, score your program across delivery, segmentation, asks, messaging, and setup, and give you strategic fixes for leveling up in Q4 and Q1. DM me if you're interested, or just head to anthrohub.co to book yours! 7th marketer to book an audit gets theirs free.

Definitely requires a ton of reading, thought, and decision making. But it's seriously incredible what AI can do.
The productivity gains I get from AI every day blow my mind. What's not lost on me is just how focused and diligent you need to be in order to be effective with these tools. I can easily see why there are 100s of $10M solo companies. If you want it, it's there for the taking.

These people aren’t going to bring down the cost of living, are they
Top of the Democratic agenda on day 1 needs to be a pause on advanced AI development, regulation of this out of control industry, and a ban on artificial superintelligence.

Migration from Squarespace to Astro + Cloudflare is complete: anthrohub.co/ Site needs lots of improvements, but wow, I'm blown away by how easy this was, and stoked at the potential. Feels like the site can be more of a living thing now - I can throw ideas up more easily and more quickly, can update messaging and offer structure as I gather more market and client data, and more. What a time to be alive.

Like a lot of marketing, email performance metrics aren't the full picture. "Dark email" is a thing. I've read emails from brands and companies and then opened their website or socials without clicking. I've googled domains of cold outreach without ever replying. One of my clients' emails showed up in sales and customer calls. As long as unsubscribes are low and you've got reason to believe you're landing in inboxes, don't assume opens and click-throughs tell the whole story. No one reads every email you send. That's ok. Keep sending good emails.

AI is cool, but at the end of the day, whoever is closer to the customer wins. I'm convinced of this. If you can use AI to help you close that distance faster and more accurately, even better.

RIP to this good man and his family.
In my 20’s, I used to work on Wall Street. People my age now (45) said they were working 70, 80, 90 hours a week for their families…but all their families actually wanted was their presence. They didn’t understand why their families resented how much they worked when they lived in a nice house, and their kids went to private schools. It was just the world we all lived in. We knew nothing else. I decided early in my startup journey that wasn’t going to be me. My co-founders and I have always had a policy of quitting at 5 or 5:30. By that, I mean: > Shut off my laptop > No more work talk > Go home to my family Frequently I’m out even earlier - 3-5, depending on whether I want to do something with the kids. I rarely travel for work and don’t entertain for work. My family life gives me energy for my work. My work gives me energy for my family life. I'm trying to stay not burnt out and excited about this for several decades. Can every founder choose this? Maybe not everybody, but more people have the choice than realize they do. There is great reward that comes from designing a business around the life you want.

Just got a phishing email that Gmail authenticated as Google. DKIM/DMARC passed. I can see a lot of people falling for this one, since it plays to the idea that your account has already been compromised. Scammer puts the scam in an app-password name, triggers a real Google alert, then forwards the alert email to your email address. How this attack works, and why it’s convincing: 1. The trick: The attacker puts the threatening text and shortened URL into an app password’s customizable name on another account. Google incorporates that text into a real security notification and signs the email. 2. The delivery: That notification is forwarded through another mailbox to the victim. In this message, Gmail still recorded passing Google DKIM and DMARC authentication. 3. What makes it convincing: The Google sender, signature, branding, and “Check activity” button are legitimate. The suspected attacker-supplied text appears inside the same trusted-looking template, using a deadline to push you toward its separate link. 4. The giveaway: Both the notification and its genuine Google button refer to someone else’s account. The “permanent access after 24 hours” claim is false; app passwords can be revoked. Be careful out there folks!

Anyone else seeing this?
Today in "things you hate to see..." Validity's data showed Gmail inbox placement is tanking. And they've got receipts... Q1 2026: Gmail inbox placement averaged 90.97%. Q3 2026: 81.57%. Spam placement jumped from 5.4% to 9.5% during that time. Write a B2B newsletter? It's worse. @GoogleWorkspace inbox placement dropped from 88.9% to 74.3%. And that's before corporate spam filters get their turn. Validity's theory is a perfect storm: the 2024 bulk sender rules are now fully enforced, the relevance-sorted Promotions tab, and AI summaries in the inbox. Validity's advice: send less and only to people who actually open. @JPMorinChase shared this and 11 other things you need to know about the newsletter industry in today's Letterland Brief. The role of marketers isn't changing: connecting humans with products that fit their desires and needs. But what that looks like is definitely changing. I'd argue marketers have a more important job than ever. Anyone who thinks they can replace excellent marketing with AI is out of their minds.
Reddit's earnings call has exposed the new reality for thousands of companies. "AI mode does not drive traffic. Not for us and not to anybody as far as I know. It used to be a traffic driver. Now it's not." - Reddit CEO. The reality is that AI is fundamentally changing the way that humans access the internet. Just 24 hours prior to this statement, Google's stock erased -$480 billion on the same issue: AI is disrupting the traditional search model. For decades, the internet operated on a simple model. Search engines directed users to websites, and those websites monetized the traffic. AI is destroying this business model, and it's happening at an accelerating pace. The traditional model of internet traffic is rapidly becoming outdated. The internet has entered a new era.

The price of "how to say it" is plummeting, but the price of "what to say" has never been higher. The only way to escape the deluge of slop is to focus on wisdom, taste, and authority.

Love this agent use case
The team just launched a cool experiment with our demo form. The agent follows up with people who fill out our demo form but don't book a meeting, using what we know to personalize the outreach. Booked at a 20% rate in the first couple of days.

Some of my best clients have come from conversations on social and in communities. So I used Grok Bot to build a daily morning digest that sends me links to Reddit threads, HubSpot community posts, and social posts that I can add value/expertise to. Also doubles as ongoing market research for me. It's early days, but I'm liking the flow.

Some days the topics lean more deliverability or lifecycle heavy, depending on what Grok can surface.
