Of 2500 media stories about the June heatwave in the UK, 72% didn’t mention climate change. 95% didn’t mention net zero. “The link between all three recent periods of extreme heat and climate change is indisputable.” - Energy and Climate Intelligence Unit theguardian.com/environment/…

The BBC’s latest audience figures show it’s reaching more than half a billion people worldwide — 502 million — for the first time in its history. That’s more than 6% of the entire world’s population. It’s a huge achievement for Britain’s global influence.

Net migration to UK is down by nearly a half after Labour’s vow to cut numbers. A majority of Conservative and Reform voters still believe it’s going up

We persistently tried to collaborate with @7DialsPlayhouse to return training/community to Tower St. Their refusal to listen to 1000s actors/creatives has been shocking. They destroyed a home, set up for actors by actors & squandered the building in the process. Disgraceful!
We campaigned tirelessly to return training. We relentlessly warned the building was at risk. The acting community has had to watch its former home The Actors Centre repurposed, sold and now closed by @7DialsPlayhouse It’s a travesty & should never have been allowed to happen.

This is fabulous news and so much of the credit for this turnaround is down to @ednewtonrex who has been tireless in standing up for the rights of creatives demanding fair application of existing copyright law. Massive props Ed. Thank you 👏🙏🏻👏🙏🏻
Fantastic news in the UK today - the government has apparently ditched its plan to force creatives to 'opt out' if they don't want AI companies training on their life's work. The opt-out proposal was unfair and unworkable. Many couldn't realistically have opted out at all, and it would have affected small rights holders disproportionately negatively. We should be grateful to the government for listening to reason on this, rather than just listening to the big tech lobby. They have done the right thing by putting opt-out behind us. They should now reaffirm what the law says - that AI companies must license people's work if they want to train on it - and commit not to change that law. thetimes.com/uk/technology-u…

Nigel Farage’s new team of former Tories can flip sides all they like. They're still the same failed Tories who trashed the economy, hammered mortgages, and lost control of our borders.
