#1 motivations for people attending @obvious events:
Experience 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁-𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱 things they've only seen 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴 post about online.
I love this because it's 𝘰𝘶𝘳 primary motivation for creating the events and informs a lot of the decisions we make when organizing them.
For instance, we make token usage for the day unlimited and free. We do this so that builders can test how ambitious they can be when unconstrained by cost concerns.
Most people haven't experienced what it's like to not have to worry about plan usage limits, API rate limits, or internal spend controls.
At @obvious , we want you to feel like you can fly. So we not only build a product that gives you massive leverage for your time and attention, we also remove any concern about cost so you can just build and experience this new way of working.

Excited to open source Sightmap!
Sightmap is a YAML spec + CLI that keeps a runtime map of your app. Views, components, requests, and memories, designed for agents to author and maintain. Every verification run gets smarter and burns fewer tokens.

specs are half "intent engineering" (thanks @jonbell) and half archeology
specs should never state an archeological fact without you being able to instantly reference the source
working with the incredible @AdamMocarski on making this idea beautiful and useful today
if software is spec, what if we got AI to make specs that weren't slop?
working on this

david showed me a demo of @obvious agents a few months back, and it was the first time i saw enough of the stack coming together that a normie startup could continuously and safely delegate complex, multi-hour engineering (and non-engineering) tasks to a non-human.
tomorrow we kick off the 3rd cohort of startups we've invited to use Autobuild, the internal tool driving the insane autonomous build velocity at @obvious (nearing 1000 PRs a day from 10 engineers)
each co is shipping 12 weeks of roadmap
this is the frontier, build accordingly
😊 One of the things I love about building in this moment is rediscovering and relearning the primitives/foundations across so many disciplines:
- Computer Science
- Psychology
- Human Computer Interactions
- Philosophy
- Aesthetics & Ergonomics
- Writing, Language, and Literature
- etc
What a wonderful time to build and learn.
