After seven seasons of watching young Sheldon grow and his family sacrifice so much, the finale dropping adult him unchanged just really feels like it cheapened everything.
Annie Potts says that Jim Parsons returning as Sheldon in the ‘YOUNG SHELDON’ finale broke her heart. “I thought the show could have ended [with young Sheldon] and not to the dreaded scene with Jim & Mayim as Sheldon & Amy revealing he was unchanged and unrepentant. That gave me a stomach ache. It was like, ‘Who crashed our party?! Who invited you?'” (via: collider.com/young-sheldon-f…)

I don't even know if I miss the movie itself. or the versior of my life that existed when I first watched it. I feel unbelievable homesick for a time that no longer exists. I was completely goosebumped and emotionally numb at the same time.

My wife’s boss accidentally revealed a secret at her ten-year work anniversary dinner, and the way she reacted made me question everything I thought I knew about my marriage. I had spent the evening feeling proud of her. I knew how many weekends she'd sacrificed for her career, how often she'd come home exhausted, and how much pressure she'd endured to earn the position she had today. Then her director stood up to give a speech. “Before we finish, I want to thank her husband, too. Four months apart isn't easy for any couple. Your support while she led that project out of state in 2022 clearly made a difference.” Everyone applauded. I sat frozen. My wife stopped smiling. Under the table, she grabbed my hand and squeezed it so tightly that I turned to look at her. “Don't ask anything here,” she whispered. I leaned closer. “What is he talking about?” “Please. Just let him finish.” I tried to concentrate on the rest of the speech, but I couldn't hear another word. Four months out of state? In 2022, she'd told me she was helping the local office prepare for a company expansion. I'd never been told about another city, temporary accommodation, or an assignment that kept her away from home. I'd trusted her completely. On the drive home, I waited until we were away from the restaurant. “Did you spend four months working in another city in 2022?” She kept her eyes on the road. “Why are you bringing this up now?” “Because your director just thanked me for supporting you while you were gone.” “He was talking about the whole team. You misunderstood him.” “Then why were you so frightened when he mentioned it?” She didn't respond. When we got home, she went upstairs without another word. I stayed awake long after she'd gone to bed, wondering why my wife would hide something so significant from me. The next morning, I asked her to explain what had happened. I told her I wasn't interested in arguing. I wanted the truth. She promised we'd talk after work. That evening, she arrived later than usual, put her bag on the floor, and sat opposite me. “I did spend four months away,” she admitted. “The company sent me to another city, and they arranged a place for me to stay. I came home some weekends.” I stared at her. “You let me believe you were working here.” “I know.” “Why?” She rubbed her forehead, struggling to find the words. “Because I knew you'd react badly if you found out who I was working with.” My stomach tightened. “Who were you working with?” She looked down at her hands. “Someone from my past.” I waited for her to explain. She didn't. “Is this someone I know?” I asked. She nodded slowly. Before I could ask another question, she started crying. And what she said next made me realize the four months away might not be the biggest secret she'd kept from me.

She knew she was turning. But she still had one lesson left to teach. "Stay Quiet. Follow the green line to safety." She drew the map while fighting the infection in her own body. The last thing she did as a human was save them. That's not a monster. That's a teacher.

I am in my thirties now. The movie was released in early 2008, and at that time, I must have watched it at least fifty times with my cousins. I formed a profound emotional connection to that world, including Arthur Spiderwick, the goblins, the sprites, the Griffin, the colors, and the music.

One week after giving birth, my friend was still in pain and struggling to recover from delivery. Her body was weak, she barely got enough sleep, and most of her time was spent breastfeeding the baby and trying to rest. One evening, her husband approached her and demanded that they have sex. She reminded him that she had only given birth a week earlier and was not physically or emotionally ready. She begged him to understand that she was still recovering, but he became angry and accused her of neglecting him. Despite her tears and repeated pleas to stop, he forced himself on her. She was left frightened, hurt, and emotionally broken. What made the situation even more painful was that this was the man she had trusted to protect and care for her. The following morning, she called me crying. She told me what had happened and admitted that she was afraid to speak up because she did not want her marriage to fall apart. I felt heartbroken listening to her. She had just brought a child into the world, yet instead of receiving love and care, she had experienced such a painful violation. I encouraged her not to blame herself. Being married does not give anyone the right to force their partner into sex. Consent matters in marriage, too. A woman who has just given birth deserves patience, tenderness, and time to heal. I also encouraged her to seek medical attention because forced sex so soon after childbirth can cause serious injuries or complications. She deserved to feel safe in her own home, and she needed support rather than pressure or shame. What hurt me most was knowing that she had been suffering silently, believing she had to endure it simply because he was her husband.
