I cancelled my Sky subscription yesterday. During an hour of computer “Chat” amongst other “offers” the price dropped from £48.50 to £35.00 to £22.00 to £18.00! Shame they hadn't thought to be less greedy in the first place!

ASiT and the Surgical Specialty Training Organisations (SSTOs) call for urgent assurances following the decision to abolish NHS England. Surgical trainees must be protected during this transition, with training structures, national recruitment, and workforce support safeguarded. No training today, no surgeons tomorrow. 🔗 tinyurl.com/DNHSE @10DowningStreet @wesstreeting @DHSCgovuk @DHSCmedia @socialmediaAOT @e1v1m1 @bota_uk @BSoT_UK @Dukes_Club @herricksociety @TheMammaryFold1 @ASGBI_MA @FitOmfs @PLASTAUK @roux_group @RouleauxClub @ntccts @TriPS_PaedSurg

Of course, because it’s the semantics that are the issue here. Not the catastrophic failure of the GMC to uphold its founding role. And what debate, it’s been unilaterally imposed? If you’re confident, why not hold a GMC registrant referendum on whether to admit non-doctors?
Interesting debate on titles- The Medical Act (1983) almost always refers to ‘medical practitioners’ not doctors (or medical professionals). #GoodMedicalPractice2024 means AAs and PAs once in UK regulation will have to follow the same high professional standards as doctors.

📢HCSA members have REJECTED the government's consultant contract reform offer. It's time to get back round the table on NHS consultant pay. We need a package that invests in consultants and protects already depleted SPA time. Our letter to Health Secretary @VictoriaAtkins 👇
