Not a bad parallel, hey @WACBennett?
Feeling so much relief and gratitude that David Eby’s reign of error is over. On record, economy, and political acumen, he must be an all time bottom 5 Canadian premier.
Thank you @LDoerkson and the CPBC team! It’s a new day in B.C.

Today (Saturday, Oct. 24) is voting day in B.C. Vote for candidates who will fix the economy, back all of our construction professionals and companies, and get B.C. building again. Polls close at 8 p.m. Go vote!
Still the champ
I have to say, David Eby and the NDP have run what is perhaps the worst election campaign of my lifetime.
Devoid of any positivity, any coherent rationale for why they deserve to be re-elected.
Filled with embarrassing gaffes (see Eby’s $10/day daycare) and a total lack of policy or rhetorical imagination.
31 days into the campaign, they can’t even articulate why they called this election in the first place.
All they have left is fearmongering, division and misinformation.
Tomorrow, October 24th, let’s vote for a change.

Tomorrow, B.C. decides.
It’s easy to forget, but B.C. used to lead this country. For more than 20 years, our economy grew at least as fast as Canada’s. We built the homes, mines, ports and bridges that powered the West.
Nothing about B.C. has changed. We still have the resources, the Pacific ports, the skilled trades and the people. What we’re missing is a government that lets us build.
None of this decline was inevitable, and none of it has to last.
On October 24, vote for a government that will get B.C. building again.

Today is the last day of advance voting. Before you vote, check David Eby’s report card.
- Economy: B.C. grew slower than the rest of Canada in 2024, for the first time in over 20 years.
- Your slice: your share of B.C.’s economy shrank 1.7% in 2024.
- Construction: zero growth since 2022.
- Housing: home building has fallen six of the last seven years.
- Debt: about $100,000 owed for every family of four.
- Interest: $14 million a day, just to pay the interest.
- Credit rating: four downgrades in four years.
Seven subjects, seven failing grades. B.C. can’t afford to give him another mandate.
Vote at an advance voting place today, or on Election Day, October 24. Vote for a government that will get B.C. building again.

Hey @mattjdh: feel free to repost our thoughts on your trainwreck of a fiscal "plan".
“Counting revenues from major project investments already in train as a fiscal benefit attributable to the NDP platform is slippery accounting.”
That’s the kindest thing ICBA’s Jock Finlayson & Ken Peacock have to say about Eby’s “costed” platform. It gets worse.

The NDP has taxed payroll, fuel, equipment, land, homes, security and vacancy — and still ran up a $13.8 billion deficit.
There's nothing left to tax. There's only change.
Oct. 24. Vote for change. Vote to defeat David Eby. #TaxedAndTired #bcpoli

B.C.'s builders are taxed and tired. Employer health tax, housing taxes, higher income tax, new PST on engineers, architects and security, WorkSafeBC premiums and expensive red tape, fees — and the deficit still grows.
Our industry, and our people, are being nickel-and-dimed to death. And all of it adds up to a massive bill.

Jock Finlayson says the @LDoerkson @Conservative_BC numbers hang together -- this is a good plan.
A statement by ICBA Chief Economist Jock Finlayson on the 2026 Conservative Party of B.C. platform and costing:
"The costed Conservative platform looks reasonable. It is a balanced plan, recognizing that there is much that affects the B.C. economy which is beyond the government’s control.
"The Conservatives intend to take a gradualist approach to deficit reduction, which makes sense given the depth of the fiscal hole Premier Eby has dug and the fragile state of the economy. An important element of fiscal strategy under a new government will be kick-starting the private sector, which has been languishing over the past several years while the broad public sector has continued to expand. The private sector accounts for at least three quarters of all economic activity – including employment – in British Columbia; it also provides the exports and drives the innovation on which living standards partly depend. Under the NDP, the priority has been increasing the size and reach of the public sector, even as large parts of the business community have been struggling or in outright decline.
"A healthier business climate and a stronger private sector economy will help to address B.C.’s difficult fiscal situation by bolstering economic growth and expanding the tax base."

So insanely happy that Langley Strong has won in the Township. Jay Lundgren will be so much better a mayor than Eric Woodward was and Barb Martens is a truly excellent councillor
