Ministers met in Tirana yesterday to assess progress on Roma inclusion in the Western Balkans. There are some good initiatives - but too few Roma benefit, and change is moving far too slowly.

As Romania’s Labour Minister @PetreFManole put it, progress only happens when the entire government is mobilised. Roma-focused ministries alone don’t have the legal or political tools - or the budget - to deliver real change.
It’s becoming clear to many officials and diplomats: investing in Roma jobs, education and skills isn’t just fair policy - it’s essential for the region’s economic survival.

Am discutat despre o serie de inițiative concrete privind incluziunea socială, economică și politică a romilor, cu accent pe măsuri eficiente pentru integrarea pe piața muncii, crearea de oportunități reale și de sprijin pentru accesul egal la educație și pregătire vocațională.
Am subliniat importanța aprofundării dialogului dintre autoritățile române și reprezentanții comunității rome și ai societății civile pentru a asigura implementarea unor politici sustenabile care să sprijine dezvoltarea economică și socială a acestei comunități, luând în considerare potențialul existent.
