I’ve got some good news! My new book, IT WAS THE WAY SHE SAID IT, comes out Sept 9th! This book is EXTRA special to me-it’s a collection of work– old and new, fiction and non-fiction-I hope folks find something that lights them up, entertains them, and maybe even inspires them.

Malik Heard got a big surprise when he was at his graduation at the University of West Georgia. His mom, Sgt. Roby told Fox 5 that she has had to miss some important moments over the years, but she refused to miss her son, whom she raised as a single mom, graduate from college. Malik is the first man to graduate from college in his family, and his degree is in Special Education. Malik says he’s not done; he’s going for his Master's and PhD next.

Prince dedicated his life to speaking out against injustice, advocating for black excellence, and spreading the message of "Love 4 One Another." In this note that he kept in his personal archives, he wrote a message that still resonates today. #Prince #Love4OneAnother

“There is no place for #racism at the University of Cambridge.” Sure, there is. And one of the places is being occupied by the philosophy professor about whom this article is written who still has his post. Stop it already with the pronouncements. msn.com/en-us/news/world/cam…
