We were honored to have @violadavis deliver a stirring keynote address at the @URI_AS #commencement. To a capacity crowd and several standing ovations, Davis shared a powerful message of transformation, healing, and love. Davis received an honorary Doctor of Letters from URI.

Initial microplastic results are in from #theoceanrace! And microplastics are found in all the samples, with highest values near the coasts. Thanks to the hard work of my super student @victoria_fulfer and our great partners @NOCsouthampton and of course, @theoceanrace. More..
As a visiting scientist at the United Kingdom’s @NOCnews, @universityofri #URIGSO doctoral student @victoria_fulfer is playing a key role in #microplastics research by analyzing samples collected by two boats participating in @theoceanrace. Here, with #URIGSO @URICRC @jp_walsh:

Outside my airplane window over the North Sea, an offshore windfarm is dwarfed by the immense blue seascape. Powering homes and businesses these remote structures coexist with and may compliment other sectors. #OceanMultiUse Looking forward to our @FrameMulti meeting. @URICRC

An interesting piece. I agree with the general concept. In reality, I think we have a broad ecosystem of basic and applied researchers including people who apply and communicate knowledge to the world -- to industry, policy and more. I think we need all, especially connectors.
