I don't normally link to @UKLabour pages, but really everyone needs to read Keir Starmer's speech to appreciate its scary mix of authoritarianism and vacuousness.
He has nothing to say on immigration - literally nothing. And he has no understanding of how to generate growth. So he resorts to more of what Labour always do - raise taxes, borrow money, pay it out to their clients.
Things are definitely going to get worse, as Starmer admits. But it's hard to see why they will ever get better with Labour in charge.

For 2.5 years Labour have accused the Conservatives of making people choose between eating and heating.
One of Labour’s first acts in Government is to cancel winter fuel payments for pensioners.
Shameful.
Age UK warns that means testing the winter fuel allowance will hit some of the poorest in society the hardest
They include 800,000 people who are entitled to claim pension credit but do not do so
A further 1million who are just above the threshold for claiming pension credit
Also those who have a slightly higher income but live in cold homes that are difficult to heat
Age UK: “Means-testing WFP this winter with virtually no notice and no compensatory measures to protect poor and vulnerable pensioners, is the wrong policy decision, and one that will potentially jeopardise their health as well as their finances – the last thing they or the NHS needs.
‘With winter now just over the horizon, the Government should halt their proposed change to WFP and think again, given the clear evidence of how it will hurt the older people who need it the most’
