Crypto megadonors up Ohio spending to $55 million to crush Sherrod Brown politi.co/4smDuTY
Troy Jackson's longtime partner, Lana Pelletier writes in to the @bangordailynews:
"I deeply resent watching Collins and her allies treat our lives as something beneath them — especially when serious issues involving women are manipulated into political weapons"
2 weeks before the midterm elections, it's the first time the federal government has released heating oil from the reserve solely to address prices (past releases have been due to severe weather events).
~ half of Maine homes still use heating oil.
The federal government plans to release up to 315,000 barrels of heating oil from its Northeast reserve, a first-of-its-kind effort aimed at lowering costs for Mainers ahead of winter.

the NRSC took out a $20M loan in September, per its latest FEC filing

pretty standard for party committees to take out loans; the NRSC took out $17M in 2024. And even though GOP super PACs have a ton of money, party cash is more valuable since committees can coordinate with campaigns to get candidate broadcast rates

from @politico this weekend - Democratic House and Senate candidates and outside groups have spent $145 million on general election ads mentioning Trump, while Republicans have spent just $8 million, according to a POLITICO analysis of data from AdImpact, which tracks political advertising.
That’s in sharp contrast to 2024, when GOP candidates spent $62 million on ads mentioning Trump.

It's a tale as old as time. The House is getting ready to blame... the Senate.
“All of this money that was expected to go to the House, for the most part, is now being wasted on the Senate because they fucked up so bad," said one national GOP operative working on multiple competitive House races.
New: Republicans are sharpening their knives ahead of Election Day — and many have already decided privately who they will blame if results don’t go their way.
So far, no one is safe from taking heat.

👀 Rs inside Trump’s political operation are warning that pro-Trump super PACs can only help so much
Instead, GOP candidates need to focus on laying out 3-5 key future deliverables to “improve people’s personal economic situation” and “lower [their] cost of living.”
If not, “there’s a good chance they’re going to lose.”
That’s shocked Rs in tough races, who feel like they’re getting diverging messaging. It’s a big shift from even how House GOP leadership has approached the campaign trail in the final stretch.

NEW — Two weeks out, Republicans are already spending significant time discussing who to blame on election night if they suffer big losses.
It’s a vicious cycle as Rs start to point fingers, publicly and privately, at the NRCC, Senate GOP, Roger Marshall, Trump himself and more. Trump political aides are calling campaigns they feel aren’t performing well enough.
“If it happens, there will be plenty of blame to go around,” said Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-N.J.), who is in his own tighter-than-comfortable race.
