Do not look away--this is what the USA is doing to help Putin.
On Oct. 19, a Russian strike on a Kharkiv park killed five people, including a 1-year-old girl. @CBSNews obtained photos showing air-defense radars offline that day due to SpaceX’s Starlink restrictions. Alina Spichak walked me through the last steps of her sister Yulia, who died there.

Residents in Kherson took advantage of the ceasefire to return to their long-burnt apartments in most heavily bombed by Russia neighborhoods and retrieve what was left of their belongings. Russia's "human safari" in the region is raging on for years. Just look at what they have done to this city!

Witkoff tried to convince Budanov of how rich he could be if he sold out his country by allowing Russian pipelines to again flow through Ukraine. Budanov ended the meeting.
Content of Tense Conversation Between Budanov and Trump's Team Revealed Negotiations between the Ukrainian delegation and Donald Trump's special envoys in Miami, as reported by Le Monde, escalated into a conflict. According to the publication, during a three-hour meeting at the Shell Bay golf club, Steve Witkoff "with irritation" demanded that Kyrylo Budanov, head of Zelenskyy's office, cease strikes on Russian oil refineries. Budanov, per Le Monde's information, "barely contained his anger" and felt that he was being "treated like a child, trying to teach him how to make money." The Americans presented an ambitious plan for postwar "regional prosperity," which envisioned resuming the transit of Russian oil and gas to Europe through Ukraine, with dividends paid to Kyiv. Budanov was outraged that such a deal would tie Ukraine to Moscow, after which the negotiations broke off. When the meeting resumed, the Americans proposed accepting a deal for supplies of Russian diesel to the United States. The publication's sources noted that they had never seen Ukrainians "so upset and alarmed." Zelenskyy's entourage described the situation as "hopeless," since Trump's envoys "think only about business." 📸: Press service of the President of Ukraine

Kherson. Ceasefire. A rare walk through just one part of the city. The scale of destruction must be seen and known. Usually, we cannot walk here because of the drones infesting the skies—so this is hidden. This is a European city. 2026.

Let me show you what it's like to live in an autocracy. This morning, the heating went off in New Belgrade due to a technical malfunction. My mom, an educated woman and a medical doctor who has traveled the world, immediately assumed it was revenge by remnants of the regime because we voted against them. Autocracies change your psyche. The state becomes an actor that persecutes you, takes from you and watches you. This fear and distrust make it harder for people to connect and organize collectively against the regime. Russia is Serbia multiplied a hundredfold.

Another story impossible to imagine in any other administration: the president's son goes hunting with a Russian criminal who is part of Putin's security entourage
The trip highlights the remarkable relationship between a son of the US president and a tycoon with a criminal record who has close ties to Vladimir Putin’s personal security service. Intelligence experts say such connections are ripe for manipulation. ft.trib.al/p0LBRYI

In this written interview, I look at U.S. efforts to force the United Nations to recognize Morocco's illegal annexation of Western Sahara, which it invaded in 1975, and the dangerous precedent it would establish. Please consider circulating. counterpunch.org/2026/10/26/…

A very consequential fallout of the students' victory in Serbia is that Russian intelligence will have to find a new home for its hundreds of spies parked at, or using support from the security apparatus of, or even using passports issued by, Serbia.

In one day, two politicians - Bolsonaro in Brazil and Vucic in Serbia - with ties to Trump and his family have lost surprise elections, thanks to high turnout. The rise of the international far-right is not inevitable.

This text from one of Ukraine’s most prominent journalists Mykhailo Tkach describes very well of what is going on in the world right now: “How incredibly lucky all these narcissistic clowns are that Ukraine continues to hold the front line despite all the obstruction from global geopolitics. Thanks to Ukrainians, the Poles have time to wave their white eagles around and argue over historical definitions, while simultaneously buying real estate in Spain so they have somewhere to flee if the russians attack. The Germans have time to investigate who saved them from russian aggression by blowing up the Nord Stream pipelines. I wonder what will happen first: a verdict against those who defended them or a russian invasion? So much time has been bought that they can even afford to divide themselves into left and right. Meanwhile, the French and Italians are already attacking themselves. And Musk has the luxury of figuring out how his own Starlink works, where it is being slowed down, and by whom. Instead of preparing to resist, the civilized world seems to be busy destroying itself. People will do anything to avoid doing what actually needs to be done. They will all be incredibly lucky for a second time if the dictators die of obesity and old age. And if they don’t – well, they don’t.”

Over the past few days, russia has been hitting Kharkiv harder and harder with missiles and drones. Last night, repeated strikes destroyed the city’s last remaining Epicentr hypermarket. Homes and infrastructure were also hit, leaving people dead and injured.

The US is willing to betray its closest allies in Europe, a market of 450 million people and an economy worth nearly $20 trillion, just to cut shady, corrupt deals with Putin's Russia, an economy roughly the size of Italy's. What an absolutely insane foreign policy.

The world must stop pretending russia is anything but a terrorist state. 1,600 guided aerial bombs dropped on Ukraine in a single week. Around 230 a day. Why is russia allowed to get away with this? When did this become normal in the so-called civilized world?
