Imagine if you stood up at work and said “You know who has one hell of a beautiful ass? It’s Carol from accounting. Stand up Carol! Show them your ass!” You’d be fired within the hour but the president gets a pass because everyone has accepted the fact that he’s a scumbag.
Trump: I looked at one hell of a beautiful ass before, Nicki Minaj. That's hard to miss.

It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say. But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota. To understand why this is so appalling, it’s important to know the facts. Congresswoman Omar came to this country with her father when she was 12 years old. Five years later, her father became a naturalized citizen. If Ilhan had been 18 at the time, she would have had to apply for citizenship separately. But because she was 17, she became a naturalized citizen automatically. Congresswoman Omar went on to graduate from college, work as a community organizer, become the first Somali-American legislator elected to public office in the U.S., and win a seat in Congress. There, she has been one of the Trump Administration’s fiercest critics, which has led the president to repeatedly single her out as someone who he believes does not belong in this country. Now the Administration is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen. Federal agents have raided her home, confiscated personal records, and seized her phone — all to try and uncover a nonexistent smoking gun from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case. Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president. And it’s not the first time this has happened. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has repeatedly gone after those he considers his political enemies — from the Attorney General of New York, to the former head of the FBI, to members of the Federal Reserve. In those cases, the prosecutions either stalled or were dismissed for having no basis in law, and the same is likely to happen in this case. But not before Congresswoman Omar’s life has been turned upside down, her legal bills have piled up, and she’s been forced to spend time fighting unsubstantiated charges instead of serving the people of Minnesota. The fact that any president, or any administration, is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans, regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omar’s political views. Because if this becomes the new normal, there’s no reason to believe it will stop with her — or that future presidents, in either party, won’t do the same.

Pelvic organ prolapse - bladder or vaginal - affects about 1 in 12 Australian women. It's often linked to physical strain, heavy lifting or past childbirth. It’s uncomfortable and debilitating. Jacqui Lambie has shown courage and honesty in speaking of her experience of vaginal prolapse. She’s talked about an awkward subject to make it easier for other affected women. Pauline Hanson thinks that's worth making fun of. One Jacqui Lambie is worth 1,000 Pauline Hansons.

Totally agree with this.
Traitors is a brilliant demonstration of how in sway humans are to conspiracy theory and confirmation bias. Or to put it another way, how certain we are right when completely wrong.

There is only one possible answer to the US ICC sanctions: blocking order. European States must protect the entire European territory from these sanctions. The EU has the legal tool to do it. Not easy. But who ever thought resisting dangerous predators would be easy. Rise to the challenge. Protect international justice. Humanity must win.

The Nobel Peace Prize has gone to Navi Pillay for promoting international law, which is the politest way a Norwegian committee has ever told Donald Trump to fuck off.
The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided to award the Nobel Peace Prize for 2026 to Navi Pillay “for her efforts to promote peace and international law.” Do you agree that international law is a necessity for peace and security?

“Let ‘em take out Los Angeles. Let ‘em take out San Diego - it’s a small price to pay.” -Trump at a rally yesterday, referencing Iran I proudly live in Los Angeles - and this morning, my mom called me back in the Midwest while I was still in bed, offering me a plane ticket out of LA, if I felt nervous to be here. I told her I would not live in fear, just because of our so-called President’s unpatriotic words. HOWEVER, when you scare Mrs. Conway, then I have a real problem with you. So, I need you all to VOTE next month during the U.S. Midterms like our lives depend on it - because according to Trump’s disgusting comments, they just might… 🇺🇸 🗳️

This is propaganda on a level we have never witnessed in world history. There was never a threat of a nuclear bomb striking US soil, but Trump’s plan to invade Iran has backfired so badly, this is literally the only card left he has to play. Continue to lie to Americans and say our lives were in danger, when anyone with a functioning brain knows damn well Iran could never hit the US with a nuclear bomb, nor have they ever had a desire to develop a nuclear bomb in the first place. Trump will get swept in the midterms. He is a lam duck President. Thank God we are watching the beginning of the end. Hands down the worst President of this nation and an absolute embarrassment to every US citizen

Gov. @KathyHochul: Last night, I signed an executive order appointing Attorney General Letitia James as special prosecutor in the sexual assault case at Cornell University. After this young woman came forward, she spoke to the police and told them exactly what happened. She could not have been clearer that she was 100% confident that she had been raped. Shockingly, those words never made it into the account that the Cornell police sent to prosecutors. She was failed by people and institutions with an obligation to protect her.

It’s so incredibly disappointing that Macklemore, my constituent, was removed from Ed Sheeran’s tour because of his comments in support of the Palestinian people. We should all be outraged that powerful people are more upset about what an artist says than the displacement, starvation, and killing of innocent Palestinian children and families. Thank you, Macklemore, for speaking up. This is a moment for us to come together, find our moral conscience as a nation, and end this genocide.

People shouldn’t be shocked Pauline Hanson is mean. She's never hidden it. She voted against free TAFE, pension increases, affordable housing and stronger workplace protections. Every one of those votes made someone's life harder. None of them made yours easier.

If Jacqui Lambie calls you an arsehole, you probably need to have a good hard look at yourself..you might not like her truth but her consistency is hard to ignore.

I landed in New York the day Gloria Steinem died. I feel the big loss for this city & for women everywhere. She lived in the same Upper East Side brownstone for nearly 60 years, & some of the first meetings for Ms. happened inside it. For decades she held talking circles in the living room: people sat down, took turns, listened. No chair, no podium, no expert. The premise is that what women say about their own lives counts as knowledge. That is not a soft idea. It built the movement, and it is the first thing taken when women are pushed out of public life. I work on Afghanistan, where women are banned from schools, from most work, and from gathering. The ban on gathering is not incidental. If you cannot sit in a room and speak, you cannot organize. Her visibility was itself the work. She made feminism legible to people who would never have read the theory, and being its recognizable face cost her decades of attack. Steinem asked that the circles continue after her death, and her foundation is working to keep the house as a place where women meet. Remember the icon. Keep the room open.

These comments are either a malevolent mischaracterisation of Australia's education system for political gain, or a display of complete ignorance of how the teaching profession operates," the union said in a statement. abc.net.au/news/2026-09-03/c…

Gloria Steinem believed women's equality wasn't a side issue—it was everything. She fought for the right to abortion access, credit, and careers. Because of her, women can occupy spaces we were never supposed to. Thank you, Gloria.
