I agree that away ticket prices at #qpr are expensive. But I don’t think the argument is as binary as “£30 good, anything above £30 bad.” There’s an economic reality here too. /1

QPR have fewer than 19,000 seats. That’s finite inventory. Unlike Premier League clubs, we don’t have the same broadcast and central revenues underpinning the business, making it much harder to simply absorb a £30 away-ticket cap. /2

Football isn’t exempt from economics. Costs, revenue and margin still matter. Fans understandably want affordable tickets. But we also want investment in players, facilities and a competitive team. Ultimately, that money has to come from somewhere. /3

🚨🔵⚪️ Excl: Glen Kamara has agreed to join QPR, deal agreed also between clubs with Rennes and here we go! Agreement on loan with an option to buy. Deal at paperwork stage.

Fearless cameo from Isak Alemayehu. I like the look of his game! #qpr

Most organisations analyse trends. Far fewer examine the tensions those signals expose inside their strategy. Efficiency vs identity. Automation vs expertise. Scale vs authenticity. In June I’m hosting a small in-person Strategic Signals Workshop in Peckham. Strictly 20 people. Details ↓ luma.com/l5kyo6rv

Marc Andreessen explains future belongs to generalist in the AI era.🎯 Founders will need skills across 6–8 fields. Deep expertise still matters, but broad knowledge plus AI tools will be more valuable in most areas. Top CEOs already operate this way
"If you are someone who is just starting a career, then AI is coming at multiple points. It will make people highly productive, but also will eliminate a large number of jobs." Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic

Mentoring has shaped how I think, lead and grow more than anything else. On 12th February, I’m sharing the tools and ideas that made the biggest difference in a live mentoring session. Link below. luma.com/1bj4fjhr

Yann is just plain incorrect here, he’s confusing general intelligence with universal intelligence. Brains are the most exquisite and complex phenomena we know of in the universe (so far), and they are in fact extremely general. Obviously one can’t circumvent the no free lunch theorem so in a practical and finite system there always has to be some degree of specialisation around the target distribution that is being learnt. But the point about generality is that in theory, in the Turing Machine sense, the architecture of such a general system is capable of learning anything computable given enough time and memory (and data), and the human brain (and AI foundation models) are approximate Turing Machines. Finally, with regards to Yann's comments about chess players, it’s amazing that humans could have invented chess in the first place (and all the other aspects of modern civilization from science to 747s!) let alone get as brilliant at it as someone like Magnus. He may not be strictly optimal (after all he has finite memory and limited time to make a decision) but it’s incredible what he and we can do with our brains given they were evolved for hunter gathering.
Yann LeCun says there is no such thing as general intelligence Human intelligence is super-specialized for the physical world, and our feeling of generality is an illusion We only seem general because we can't imagine the problems we're blind to "the concept is complete BS"

Today, we’re announcing a major breakthrough that marks a significant step forward in the world of quantum computing. For the first time in history, our teams at @GoogleQuantumAI demonstrated that a quantum computer can successfully run a verifiable algorithm, 13,000x faster than leading classical supercomputers. This continues to build momentum on past quantum computing discoveries. Back in 2019, we proved a quantum computer could solve a problem that would take a classical computer thousands of years. Then in 2024, our new Willow chip solved a major issue in quantum error correction that challenged the field for nearly 30 years. Today’s breakthrough moves us closer to quantum computers that can drive discoveries in areas like medicine and materials science.
