Nextflow goes to university!🎓 We collaborated with UFRN for an 8-day Nextflow and @nf_core course. Students rocked their final projects, from SARS-CoV-2 genome assembly to applying Nextflow in Economics 📚 Congrats to all!🌟
Check the whole experience: nextflow.io/blog/2023/nextfl…
Everyone developing Nextflow pipelines should eventually take a look at nf-co.re/tools/ - They're amazing!
Got schooled in @nextflowio today by my friends @jvcavv and @gabriellovate, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!
Also, can't believe I had been sleeping on nf-co.re/tools/, I'll have to break some stuff in the morning 🔨🔨
I'm so glad to be taking part in Tiago's project, there already are a lot of great ideas being discussed. We'll try to structure Brazilian bioinformatics data using #wikidata.
Hopefully we'll have something to show soon, so stay tuned!
I'll be using the @ShuttleworthFdn USD 5000 Flash Grant to curate information about bioinformatics in Brazil in @wikidata/ @WDScholia!
The first 1000 USD were re-awarded to @aunicorn1o and @jvcavv, as they join me in organizing the event.
Stay tuned for updates :)

Segue o 🧵.

Open data and open science is imperative. So I went ahead and scraped college testing data from NPRs website and now anyone can attempt to replicate @NPR's analysis. Here is the data gist.github.com/sbooeshaghi/…, and here is a reanalysis of the data github.com/pachterlab/BTRBP_…
Hi @sinabooeshaghi! Thank you for your interest in our data. We aren’t sharing the full set beyond our research affiliate team at the moment, but we may be able to work with you. Please email us: [email protected]

"Networks from archives" is out!
We extracted network data from about 170k administrative letters exchanged between Portugal and its colonies, spanning around 200 years, and found nice changes in the communication structure of the early modern Portuguese empire! Follow the 🧵

Are you also unable to concentrate in anything in the 10-20 meetings prior to a Zoom meeting because you keep thinking you'll have to interrupt it as soon as the meeting starts? Or is it just me?
This is so funny!! Cool things you can do with #wikidata

Hopefully Tiago and I can get some cool insights into how cell type knowledge is modelled in Wikidata, either way, it will be fun! I'll soon be making a GitHub repo for this project, if anyone wants to stop by and contribute, they're welcome to!

We have a lot of misinformation in Brazil, but we have good scientists working to bring information to general audience. Unfortunately, many threads often get lost. I'm working on a Q&A engine (using NLP sentence encoders) on tweets from Brazilian scientists. Still in progress.
