Always funny to realize that your personal favorite pieces among your own writing are sometimes (often?) not what other people gravitate toward. It's like, Are they wrong? Am I? Do I just have more of an emotional connection to these? But these *are* the best! Are they, though?
writing a feature and maybe is bc i didn’t take my mood stabilizers today but i think i am slapping it & maybe i should lean more towards long form
no one prepares you for how stressful shcool applications are, even though you’ve been through it once

today from Alina Kalontarov ❤️🔥
havehashad.com/hadposts/this…

ALT October 15, 2026 THIS IS NOT A GHOST STORY Alina Kalontarov Around the kitchen table, the children play pretend. Let’s pretend to be ancestors, the youngest suggests. You can’t be an ancestor, the oldest replies, because then you’d be dead. The mother silently wiping the counter pretends to be there, ghosts bleating like lambs in her head. The children abandon the old game. The past goes on pretending to be gone. The ancestors play dead.
