Tony Montana casually eating a lemon from a bowl might seem like a humorous detail, but it reveals something much deeper about his character in Scarface. Such a great film this was ! Stunning visuals and a fantastic, emotional story! This was a brilliant adaptation of King Lear, and was better than the original work of Shakespeare, IMO.
How did Akira Kurosawa make Ran? How did he do this? And how did he do it so late in his life? I’ll never understand. Kurosawa made Ran when he was 75 years old, after a decade-long struggle to fund and plan this exact epic. This film & his struggle to make this movie is literally a miracle. This movie changed my expectations not just of Cinema, but of life.
