There's countless interviews with Arthur Scargill centered around the miners strike but probably not as many leading up to 1984.
The latest episode of the @BarnsleyMuseums podcast was recorded by John Kelly (founder of @LamproomMTC) in 1983.
Our podcast Barnsley Museums Natters is reflecting on 40 years since the miners' strike. The latest episode is an interview with Arthur Scargill recorded in 1983 before the year long strike started.

There should be at least one Friday a month that is a “read in bed all day” day, where you don’t have to go to work, and you get to just eat snacks in bed with a good book.

On the 40th anniversary of the miners' strike, it is worth exploring the solidarity efforts of British South Asians.
There were street collections from Southall to Birmingham. The Asian Youth Movements and Indian Workers Associations also sent minibuses to the picket lines. 🧵

When I spoke at the Orgreave rally alongside Scargill, I made clear that Farage, a privately educated stockbroker who boasted about keeping the flame of Thatcherism alive is no friend of the working class.
And I highlighted a proud history of South Asian solidarity with miners.

Shocking stuff from @HuddersfieldUni:
Offers *minimum* redundancy pay in latest round of cuts.
@huducu threatens strike.
HU adds measly +£5k for all.
Staff accept redundancy, reluctantly.
HU reneges on deal - lowest paid, fractional staff don’t get £5k
