Depth-aware light injection in TypeGPU
I got a 448x448 monocular depth model down to ~8 ms on my M4 Pro across ~250 dispatches, which is fast enough to use in realtime :D
Since the inference is written directly in TypeGPU, I can just feed the depth buffer straight into the lighting pass. It never has to leave the GPU or go through any extra synchronization/interop step
Inference, lighting and draw all go through the same command encoder.

When I made this animation as a style test, I started flirting with stepped animation. There’s something about the texture it adds to the motion that I can’t get enough of.

Dredd (2012) is a wildly underrated sci-fi gem. Karl Urban nailed the role, and the world-building deserved way more love. Still holding out hope for a sequel.

Arina Kraeva animated this super fun sequence during her mentorship with Lupin House Animation 😁
We're always showing you guys the clean playblasts and final renders, but let's pull the curtains a bit today eh?
There's often quick camera tricks that you don't notice in the actual video, but you feeeeel them and we're able to see one of them here! And not to even mention all those paper rigs 😂
Awesome stuff!
