Nairobi is becoming dirtier by the day—even areas like Kilimani and Lavington, right next to State House. Sometimes I genuinely wonder: does the President ever walk beyond the gates of State House? Does he see the overflowing bins, filthy streets, broken pavements and general neglect around the city? Do our leaders ever experience Nairobi on foot, the way ordinary citizens do? Because if they did, surely this situation would bother them. Nairobi is our capital city. Why have we accepted this?
