Today I saw my first pebble mimic dragon! And by me I mean someone else pointed it out to me until I eventually saw what they were pointing at

I'm interested to see how this hexagon map of electorate results colours in for Yes and No tonight. Entirely for artistic reasons it would be nice if it has more than one colour. Full results down to electorate level tonight at abc.net.au/news #auspol #referendum2023
We did an aquatic and terrestrial invertebrate survey for the Friends of Maylands Samphires group. The Friends, along with the City of Bayswater, have gotten signs made up of some of the results! Come down to Clarkson Reserve on Wadjuk country and visit the salt marshes!

Its official name is Tiliqua frangens, but its bulky bod and serious spiky armour mean it already has a range of colourful nicknames including "Mega Chonk" and "Chonkasaurus". ab.co/43DwFA8

Happy #NationalRiversMonth! Rivers are vital to the health of wildlife, people, and economies. This month, stick to the rivers and lakes that you're used to and use the illustration below to learn how rivers benefit all of us! But maybe stay away from waterfalls...

ALT An illustrated scene of a mountain river. A text box pointing to a caught fish says "Riparian vegetation traps sediment and filters debris for higher water quality." A label pointing to a person fishing says "Riparian zones reduces floods by slowing the flow of water into and out of the environment." The beaver text box says "River ecosystems provide fertile feeding grounds for many species of birds, fish, and game."
Had a last fancy vegan brekko before my flight home to Boorloo/Perth. Thank you Meeanjin/Brisbane, it's been very good!

We are making inroads into the invasive Carp population in one of Perth’s most well-loved wetlands, Herdsman Lake. 347 kg of Carp removed in two days. Thanks to DBCA for supporting this restoration initiative. @MurdochUni @FishFisheries
So lucky to get to meet so many interesting people doing really great science! 😊
Highlight of the #freshwaterdownunder meeting was making great connections with members of @_NZFSS and @AusFreshwater
