Uhuru called Sifuna on Monday evening. The orders? FIRM. “Go to Wamùnyoro. Riggy G is waiting.” Sifuna arrived with his Luhya allies. Shock was written all over their faces. Even Pauline was caught off guard. Then Sifuna was summoned inside. His team stayed outside. The message: TAKE THE RUNNING MATE SLOT. NON-NEGOTIABLE. I was there.

RUTO SHAMED IN UKAMBANI! As Ruto campaigned, ALL Ukambani governors reportedly stood with their leader, Kalonzo, to visit their brother Gachagua at Wamùnyoro. Remember All Wiper MPs stood with Gachagua during his impeachment. Yet Ruto thinks the Kamba community will fall for the same empty rhetoric he keeps repeating. Ukambani remembers.

Sifuna saw everything at Wamùnyoro yesterday. The chemistry. The trust. The loyalty of brothers who stood with Gachagua when it mattered. Contrast that with his Western delegation that shamefully faced a man they helped persecute. Sifuna and his team should drop the arrogance, loudness and entitlement. He should know his bargaining power was ODM , now politically diminished. Rusheni mawe, brerì

As delegations troop to Wamùnyoro, memories of the infamous impeachment linger: who stood with Mùrìma, who betrayed it, and who voted against it. That impeachment was never just about Gachagua. It was about MÙRÌMA’s place in Kenya’s power equation. Wiper stood with Mùrìma. Now, MÙRÌMA stands with Kalonzo. Loyalty remembers. History turns. Payback is political.

LUO NATION, THE GREATEST POLITICAL TRAGEDY IS TO BE ISOLATED FROM A WINNING TEAM WHEN THE VERY PEOPLE BUILDING THAT TEAM ARE YOUR POLITICAL FRIENDS, ALLIES AND SONS. William Ruto is isolating Luo Nyanza from the emerging political alliance, yet the uncomfortable irony is that the very branches of this political family include Kalonzo Musyoka, your friend, and Edwin Sifuna, your son. Kalonzo is a partner. Sifuna is one of your own. Rigathi Gachagua is part of the wider political conversation. These are relationships that Luo Nyanza should be nurturing, not destroying through internal rivalries and political arrogance. The House of Mumbi is engaging with these leaders. Political relationships are being built, conversations are taking place, and alliances are taking shape. If Luo Nyanza remains busy fighting its own potential partners, it risks finding itself outside decisions that will shape Kenya's future. Luo elders, leaders and intellectuals, wake up to the political moment. Bring Kalonzo Musyoka, Edwin Sifuna and Rigathi Gachagua to the table. Negotiate. Reconcile differences. Protect our community's interests. We cannot afford to confuse loyalty to individuals with loyalty to Luo Nyanza's future. The real danger is not that our allies will abandon us. It is that we will fight among ourselves until our allies have no reason to wait for us. Luo Nyanza must choose strategic engagement over political isolation. History has punished us enough for failing to recognise the value of our relationships. Do not let William Ruto's politics of division succeed where our own political wisdom should prevail. – at Nairobi, Kenya

When Uhuru Kenyatta left office, I was buying a 100g bar of Protex soap at KSh 90. Today, I am paying KSh 180 for the same bar. The price has doubled. My income hasn't. And William Ruto wants Kenyans to believe the economy is stable? Stable for whom? Because for the ordinary Kenyan, the cost of living is becoming unbearable. Every trip to the supermarket is a reminder that our money buys less, our salaries are stretched thinner, and survival is getting more expensive. Economic stability should not be measured by speeches, charts or statistics alone. It must be felt in the pockets of ordinary citizens. If a basic bar of soap costs twice as much, tell us: stable for whom, Mr President? – at Ruiru, Kenya

LUO NATION, DID WE DO GOD WRONG? WHAT IS OUR POLITICAL SIN? Sometimes, as a young Kenyan from Luo Nyanza, I sit down and wonder: what exactly did we do wrong? Why do we produce some of the finest doctors, engineers, lawyers, surgeons and intellectuals, yet repeatedly struggle to translate our intelligence into political wisdom? Our professionals are respected across the world. Even our street-smart hustlers(conmen) nderstand the game. However when it comes to politics, why do we keep burning bridges, fighting our potential allies and celebrating victories that ultimately benefit our rivals? 2007: Kikuyus, Luhyas, Kambas, Kisii and other communities supported Raila Odinga. They looked beyond ethnicity and voted for a Luo candidate. They demonstrated that Kenya could rise above tribal politics. 2013: Luo Nyanza had an opportunity to preserve and strengthen its relationship with the Kalenjin community. Instead, political hostility and broken bridges helped create the conditions for William Ruto to become Deputy President. History has consequences. 2017: Raila Odinga had an opportunity to build a succession plan and elevate leaders who could carry the movement forward. Instead the politics of personal ambition and mistrust weakened the opposition's future. We must ask difficult questions about the decisions that cost us opportunities. Baba later entered the Handshake with Uhuru Kenyatta, even as questions of accountability, the killing of Chris Msando and the exile of Miguna Miguna remained painful subjects for many Kenyans. Political accommodation came at a cost. 2022: Raila Odinga had another historic opportunity to build a lasting political partnership with Kalonzo Musyoka. He would have died a kingmaker. He could have helped nurture a successor and strengthen the opposition beyond one individual. That opportunity passed, and Baba died without becoming President & without making a president. Now look at the pattern. In 2013, Luo Nyanza rejected William Ruto politically. He went on to become Deputy President. In 2022, Luo Nyanza fought Ruto politically, yet he won the presidency. And now, in 2027, some of us are busy fighting Edwin Sifuna, a man who is going to become the Deputy President, while others are fighting Kalonzo Musyoka, a man who is going to be sworn in as Kenya's sixth President. LUO NATION, CHILDREN OF ADAM, WHAT EXACTLY ARE WE TRYING TO PROVE? When William Ruto built a political understanding with the House of Mumbi, he emerged from that alliance as Deputy President and eventually became President. Today, Kalonzo Musyoka and Edwin Sifuna have also engaged with the children of Mumbi. They are going to come out as president and DP. Do we want to win arguments on social media while losing power at the ballot? Do we want to be remembered as a community that produces brilliant professionals but repeatedly sabotages its own political interests? We cannot demand national unity while destroying every relationship that could deliver it. We cannot complain about exclusion while treating potential allies as enemies. 2027 is not the year for political arrogance. It is the year for strategic thinking, coalition-building and hard-headed negotiations. Support Kalonzo Musyoka you're the people who made him who he is. Support Edwin Sifuna he is a branch from our own tree. Do not destroy either man simply because your preferred political arrangement differs from someone else's. This is not a prophecy. It is a warning drawn from our political reality. Luo Nyanza, we do not lack intelligence. We need the political wisdom to turn that intelligence into power. We must stop confusing political noise with political strategy. Our future cannot be built on permanent quarrels, wounded egos and bridges set on fire. The question is no longer whether we can produce great leaders. The question is whether we have learnt how to build the alliances that allow great leaders to win. – at Nairobi, Kenya

Please we are tired of your antics. You can yell 100 times but that won’t change anything. Whether Kalonzo is the flag bearer or not that is none of our business. You can have him as such and similarly consider Muturi who is also from GEMA as his running mate

When the Yamune kitchen cabinet plotted to topple GEMA, GACHAGUA HAD TO GO. In his place, they had to put a yes sir man. Ruto had secured the Mountain tugeges but needed Raila to consolidate the numbers. A deal was struck. Sifuna, then ODM Secretary General, was at the centre of ODM’s engagement with UDA. Gachagua was being politically isolated. Jubilee went silent. Uhuru was nowhere to be seen. Matiang’i had cowardly ran away to the US. Martha and other briefcase parties kept quiet and Ruto gathered the guts to impeach. THEN KALONZO CALLED. His message to Gachagua was simple: “Brother, I understand what is happening. I am with you. Wiper will stand with you in Parliament and the Senate. If the worst happens, I am ready to die with you.” Then he hung up. At the Senate, Sifuna was among those opposing Gachagua. Today, Sifuna hopes Gachagua will endorse him? OUR ANSWER IS A RESOUNDING NO! We remember who stood with us when the chips were down. LIWE LIWALO, HATUBANDUKI! Karì gani?

Under Kibaki and Uhuru, we had our struggles, but money circulated, institutions functioned, and the economy gave ordinary Kenyans room to breathe. Health, education and agriculture had their flaws, but people could still point to programmes that worked. Today, the pain is different. Families are struggling to afford food, taxes are biting, public institutions are under pressure, and corruption remains a national wound. William Ruto has turned criticism of his leadership into a tribal argument, as if only Kikuyus oppose him. I am not a Kikuyu. I am suffering too. So are millions of Kenyans from every community. The mother who cannot afford school fees is not asking for tribal balance. The father who cannot afford hospital bills is not interested in ethnic propaganda. The young graduate without a job does not care which tribe occupies State House. They want a government that works. We must stop confusing a community with its leaders. No tribe owns Kenya, and no tribe should be blamed for the failures of a president. We are not suffering because of our tribes. We are suffering under the decisions of those entrusted with power. Kenya is bigger than the politics of ethnic blame. Our children deserve better than a country where leaders divide us while our lives get harder. – at Ruiru, Kenya
