Community Pharmacy England has urged Ministers to provide immediate funding relief to prevent further pharmacy closures and avert a potential collapse of the sector.
In a letter to Ministers, CEO Janet Morrison warned that without immediate action, the sector will be unable to sustain the current Contractual Framework or future Government and NHS ambitions.

It is depressing but accurate.
Additional finance is needed ASAP to avoid a meltdown. Waiting for a new contract with some possibility of extra cash in the Autumn, if we are lucky, won’t work.

Our 2 pharmacies have been here for 234 years. Like 75% of pharmacies we are currently making a loss, which is unsustainable. We urgently need an injection of cash @andrealeadsom but instead we have received a £37m/month funding cut. This needs to be reversed urgently @chrisloder
