Every "clever" structure I thought was investor friendly turned into a question, a footnote and a call with counsel.
Clean economics. Clear definitions. The GP gets paid after LPs do. That's what builds trust.
Nobody tells you the hardest part of being a solo GP isn't finding deals. It's that every LP question about "key person risk" is really a question about you. Your judgment, your bandwidth, your health. So you build like a 20 person firm: real admin, real audit, real governance. Not because anyone requires it. Because it's the only honest answer.
