Happy new book year and book month. I've read 5 in 2025 so far which I'll add back in retrospectively. I've started reading 'What does it feel like?' By Sophie Kinsella and I am absolutely breaking my heart at her story. A short novella but her most autobiographical work to date

ALT Image shows a leftbhand holding up a navy blue book in front of a cream and wooden dining chair. Sophie Kinsella is written in large white letters. What does it feel like? Written in green large letters. A hand with a red and white hospital tag holds up a shiny sparkly silver dress. The figure is behind a curtain and part of a hospital smock can be seen in the picture.

I could never be a book influencer because half the time I just reread my favorite books and the rest of the time I read books nobody seems to really be talking about.

I know itβs Grinchy, but I just KEEP thinking of the difference it could make to authors, & UK publishing. if all the ££ spent on #WorldBookDay costumes went on new books instead, or if each school pooled together all that costume ££, & paid for an author or illustrator visit.

A cantankerous woman at times but with such genuine warmth, I was sad to say goodbye to her at the end. I felt like I'd lived a part of her life. I loved the relationship between her and her friend when they would each write a post script of what they were reading.
