After a lumpectomy – breast-conserving surgery to remove a cancerous tumour – surgeons often tell patients they think they got it all. But 1 in 5 surgeries doesn’t go that way.

The quotes in this @klaidlaw story are next level.
From a Hermès customer who owns 8 Birkins:
“I specifically had girls so I could hand them down,” she says. “I said, ‘God, give me only girls because I have way too many purses. It was a special order.’”

I can’t get over the feeling that it doesn’t matter how well the journalists do, it’s the suits at many outlets (not ours) who keep failing at the task of selling their good work semafor.com/article/02/04/20…
The cop and public servant in my most recent story each sentenced to seven years in prison this morning.
What happens when a cop and a public servant have a years-long affair? They steal the $800k estate of an elderly man with Alzheimer's... and get away with it. My new story, on this month's cover of @torontolife, is here: torontolife.com/deep-dives/c…
