I know many of these stories, but this one hits home, since it’s in my very own department.
I’m sure its hard to keep up the fight as this drags on, but know that so many of us support you.
And remember- when you fight, you win!!

Got to join @ESPM_Berkeley & other @UCBerkeley faculty today in support of the @uaw2865 strike for fair wages and contracts. The success of the UC depends on their labor.
Keep it up friends- when you fight, you win!!

I am overwhelmingly excited to share that this fall I’ll be starting at UC Berkeley as a Cooperative Extension Specialist in Forest & Fuels Management.
It’s bittersweet to leave great colleagues @Conserve_CA but I’m looking forward to the new role!!
@ESPM_Berkeley @ucanr
I’ve been off #ScienceTwitter for awhile but I’m psyched to jump back down the rabbit hole this fall when I start more outreach! :)
I’m lucky to have started my career in a park shaped by Jan’s vision (& been able to pick his brain).
Thanks to that vision, Yosemite’s progressive approach to fire- both Rx & using wildfires as a tool-have been paying off (eg Washburn Fire/Mariposa Grv, Rim Fire).
RIP Jan

“There’s no solution going forward that doesn’t involve fire. It’s either the kind of fire we want, or the kind of fire we don’t.” ... “there are even bigger risks from doing nothing,” @klshive nationalgeographic.com/envir…?
We’ve got a new pub out on #giantsequoia mortality across 3 fires (2015-17). These fires were harbingers of the larger 2020/21 fires impacting sequoias.

Sequoias are extremely fire resilient- it’s part of the secret to their longevity! But they are also susceptible to recent increases in fire intensity.
Punchline:
• there was high mortality in areas classified as high severity via remote sensing (75-100% across 3 fires)
Wow I think this is the first time I’ve been live tweeted! Thanks Britta :)
It was a great 1st day of meetings, w/ lots of great talks, incl @LHborealis of @savetheredwoods & @ur_lexicon of @ESPM_Berkeley!
Great to be w/ so many ppl who are ready to work hard for #giantsequoia

If you work full-time at the federal minimum wage you qualify for food stamps and Medicaid (which we all pay for).
Stop asking if businesses can afford higher wages and start asking why we're all paying to subsidize their low wages.
I know, lame to quote tweet my own tweet, but Bono @U2 putting on an American accent at the start may be what REALLY makes this great ❤️❤️
Sorry José. I respect you a lot but that is the WORST of Christmas songs!!

Such nerdy fun! I love this.
I can’t recall my dissertation title but this comes from the title of the last paper I submitted.
Would love to see the same from @DisturbedDendro @dudney_joan @carmentubbesing
